Guest guest
Which studies are these? And what are the beneficial aspects? to be honest I have not yet seen a study that is in any way conclusive that proves saturated fat = problem with heart or heart health, just read the book by Ravnskov and apply his techniques to the original papers which are supposed to show sat fats are bad and you find that these studies are just statistical manipulations, there is just no hard evidence against sat fats. But the fact that poly fats make up over 50% of CHD patients heat arteries does make me suspicious of them. I havent got the pub med references but recently was looking through a few that tested specific sat fats on cholersterol levels and found no ill-effects. as to benefits of sats fats, you know what I am going to say, most people reading this do (coconut fat, congulated lino acids, its all been wriiten in this forum before) and the references can be found in the vaious papers at mercola.com and weston A Price foundation and the cholestrol sceptics etc. And although you may not be keen on these people/organizations, the fact is that doctors like mercola cannot preach high fat/protein/cholestrol and get away with it long if their patients are dying, and they find high sat fats does not do much, if anthing, to cholest levels and the make up of that cholesterol. People are also trying in studies to trip the atkins dieters up on the fats side, but again they are having no success, the tide is turning (though atkins is not my idea of a good aproach, carbs are still important, especially veg).
