Guest guest
Marilyn, I've had RLS for many years. I take Klonopin (clonazepam - generic name) every night. RLS is so disturbing that only those who have it can actually comprehend the problems it causes. I had it diagnosed during a sleep study for sleep apnea (which, thank God, I don't have anymore!). I take 1-1/2 pills (they're 2mg pills) for a total of 3 mg a night. I couldn't sleep without it. I think it helps in my overall sleep pattern. You can also get it during the day, especially if sitting for long periods of time. Only something like Percocet can help with the daytime symptoms. Trying to avoid sitting for too long without stretching and getting the sleep you need at night (along with taking this medication) is about all (I think) that can be done. You're not alone with the " creepy crawlies! " Hang in there! Jul (lilac_rose@... ) Re: How have your families reacted to stills? It's ok to get down...we all do. One thing that caught my attention in your post was Oliver kicking his feet...there is something called restless leg syndrome or something like that....I had experienced it during the beginning of my illness with all the steroids and such. You may want to ask the doctor about this or inquire to Oliver to explain how he feels when he kicks his legs. It just caught my attention. I don't mean to make you panic....It's more of an annoyance than anything so please don't be alarmed I just thought I would bring it up. Guest guest
Hi All, This RLS thingy, as Oliver is still in the beginning of Stills and it is still forming within his body, will he continue to have RLS as par for the course? I was interested that Oliver's consultant has a theory of how Stills begins. He believes that, (wait for it I'll try and spell it), a Steptaccoci (oh! dear I know its the wrong spelling lol) infection starts it off. Oliver had such an infection when he was about 9.5 months old and was hospitalised for three days before we could get his temperature down. What do you all think? Guest guest
a, I had a really bad ear infection just before my stills appeared, so i think infections trigger it too, i think there's several people on here who might aggree also. Guest guest
There are so many theries and I have heard that one before however I tend not to believe it, but what do I know??? When I was first dnx'd with Still's I thought it was crazy nobody in my family has any Rheumatic illness. Well just last month two of my cousins and my aunt have all been dnx'd with Lupus and some other syndrome involving the ana factor? I don't recall what it was. They were talking Still's for a while but settled on the dnx of Lupus. I don't have many of the details but now I see there is a connection on my mother's side of the family. One thing I found interesting is that these two cousins were sisters and their brother passed away at a young age in an automobile accident about a year and a half ago. He had 3 children he left behind and the whole family was really distraught. Stress and the ability to handle or not to handle, in my case, must play an important part in Still's or Lupus or any Rheumatic disease rearing it's ugly head. I started out with RLS, but I no longer have it. It has come and gone as have many on my symptoms. I'm sure I'll see it again. For instance I am sleeping really well right now...all through the night...with the sweats and all. I will wake up and my hair is wet and my clothes damp or I'm naked (I don't recall taking my clothes off) so I know I was sweating pretty hard at one point. I was sleeping so soundly though that it didn't wake me up. I have been at this stage before and I really enjoy it, but I have a feeling that my nights of rest will not last forever. I'm already beginning to wake a bit at night. My body is on some sort of clock. I'm sure and it will take years to figure out. I was speaking to Patty on the phone last week shortly after I hung up with my doctor and she said watch in about a half hour you'll have a fever. Now, Patty has had Still's for 25 years so she has her clock pretty well figured out. She wasn't off by much shortly after...more like 45 min from his phone call...I had a fever that spiked at 103.5. I began to sweat it off pretty quickly and by the time I was at the pain management doctor it had already dropped to...I think it was 101.9 or something like that. I was soaked when I walked in...so much so that he gave me a towel to dry off with. If I can just somehow break the cycle that my body is in....somehow change the clock. I'll be ok....I think. Well, I hope you figure yours out soon. Guest guest
Marilyn I, too, have RLS. I just got home from a vacation in the FL Keys and found your email. I have had good results with a bedtime combo of Clonapin and Flexeril. My rheumy chose this treatment and it has worked pretty well. I know because I forgot my clonapin on this trip and tried to increase my flexeril doseage to make up for it. This helped some, but still wasn't the same. I think Clonapin is really an important part of this coctail. Just my two cents worth! Stay healthy

Guest guest
Also, take lots of magnesium. Most people are deficient in it, and a deficiency will cause cramping and restlessness, not to mention what it does to the heart.Bala Lodhia <blodhia@...> wrote: Hi There, In the matrix there ia a Narayani Scar tissue remedy. Guest guest
No parasites and no B deficiencies. I think it's a serotonin/dopamine connection. Guest guest
I wouldn't be surprised if many RLS cases stem from scar interference somewhere, including the mouth. But then how would one explain those cases that disappear when iron or manganese is given? The human body is a mystery. is Rotella, M.Ac. > > > > Well, after much research, I seem to have found something promising > > for RLS. > > > > It's a NET homeopathic remedy called SCARS ADHESIONS.
