Guest guest Posted February 15, 2007 Report Share Posted February 15, 2007 I've never tried to make yogurt from coconut milk (only cow's milk) but I'm sure you've seen both goat's milk and soymilk yogurt. Seems to me that if coconut yogurt were possible, we probably would have seen it by now. But about those pink splotches: I've kept sourdough starters for years and learned early on that pink or orange spots were very bad news.Those colors indicate some nasty bacteria have taken hold and you don't want to be ingesting that. I cannot authoritatively say such is the case with your coconut milk/yogurt attempts,but both foods are based on a similar fermentation process.
