Guest guest
I heard a warning on the radio today that people are going excessively low on carbs and that this is dangerous - one reason given is that our brains need a rather large amount of glucose to function properly. I find this to be true for myself and I'd like to hear from others, especially the women in the group. I find that if I don't have a certain amount of higher carbs, my mood shifts. Statistics show that women are indeed more prone to mood swings and depression because of our complicated hormonal apparatus. And higher carbs have been touted as the " feel good " foods. I've (I hope) solved this for myself by adding more sweet potato to my diet, more berries (esp blueberries) and extra selenium (which supposedly helps mood). So far so good. Speaking of mood: many of you may remember my posts a few weeks ago about my husband's experiment with Wellbutrin. Sure enough it seems to be wearing off and his appetite seems to be returning. I've suggested to him 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Comments are welcome.
