Guest guest
We have that warning about guar in the files. And in fact it's been discussed several times. If you prefer pure guar, besides " Beyond-a-Century, Warren also sells guar gum and we do list him as another source. on 5/27/2004 3:36 PM, citpeks at citpeks@... wrote: > The links section of the lists only one source for > guar > gum: > > Beyond-a-century.com > Guar Gum $6.00/lb plus shipping $5.00 min > > After visiting several local health food stores, nutrition shops, and > pharmacies in the Washington DC area, I found out that Benefiber > consists only of " partly hydrolyzed Guar Gum " with nothing else > added. Guest guest
Each of the fiber forms have different benefits. Benefiber has a lot going for it in that it's easier to mix. OTOH, I've always associated more pleasure with eating over drinking anything. And since the Benefiber is more prone to liquid form, I lean towards the guar form of fiber. Guar isn't exactly solid, but my preparation usually results in the requirement of a spoon. A note: if you are new to guar, please make sure you mix with plenty of water. Here's another perspective on fiber comparisons: msg #11132 /message/11132 citpeks wrote: >I found out that Benefiber consists only of " partly hydrolyzed Guar Gum " with nothing else added. Guest guest
I've never tried benefiber . But I imagine it's pretty tasteless. But I've concocted lots of different types of guar pudding. With guar, you can mix it with a wide variety of flavors . If you don't want to order the relatively expensive Lorann flavor packs from Warren, you can use whatever's on hand: coffee, cocoa, vanilla, lemon, lime, etc for a wide variety of pretty good tasting puddings. And sweetened to your liking with sucralose or whatever artificial sweetner you use. on 5/27/2004 9:39 PM, apricot85 at apricot85@... wrote: > Each of the fiber forms have different benefits.
