Guest guest
Hi Pete and welcome to our group! When I first started using coconut oil on my skin I had terrible breakouts for about 3-4 month but this was actually a GOOD thing as my body was detoxing. If your daughter decides to use CO have her be patient as some people's skin problems get better right away and some will have flare ups. A couple of things I noticed...... If you have large breakouts that weep or have a lot of clear liquid you can apply a paste of CO and coconut flour to the blemish and it will dry right up. You may break out more at first but they will seem to disapear as soon as the appeared. I have had some leave with-in hours but usually over night. Don't try to squeeze the ones that come on suddenly but just apply coconut oil several times during the day. Less is better. Applying a thin layer works better than a large amount which tends to pool up on the skin. It seems to over-saturate the tissues and is not readily absorbed. I use a small amount of coconut flour in some coconut oil to scrub my face as well. It works great as an exfoliant. The coconut oil will, over time, bring blackheads etc. to the surface, as well. If she has a lot of blackheads she might want to do the following. this is something I posted on another egroup today about skin care. ***********The best results I have had for blackheaads is to take 5 large strawberries and mash them up into a 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. Or put in blender. Let it sit for at least 24 hours before using. Mix well and apply several layers to your face at bedtime and wash off in the morning.Letting each layer dry somewhat before putting on another layer. Yes ...........the smell goes away very quickly. You will be amazed at what dissolves overnight. Blackheads will just roll off your skin. Your skin will also feel very soft. I also have dry skin so I then peel 4-5 green grapes and mix them with a tsp or so of honey and spread that on my face. After 20 minutes I rinse off and apply some coconut oil with a little vitamin E mixed in. Jeanne
