It has helped my digestion immesely but I have also started having this nervous energy in my body, feeling totally spaced out, ungrounded and disembodied. Has anyone experienced this? I am wondering if I am taking too much (two tablespoons) and my body can't handle it since it is not used to it. I am going to stop for a couple of days to see what happens and then lessen the dose. Any ideas anyone? I tried to do the coconut detox and I suffered terribly. I took only a quarter of a cup a day by the end of the second day I was passing out and vomiting. I eat a good diet that is almost all organic and I juice. I only drink herbal teas and water, but despite all this, the coconut oil in that amount (4 tablespoons) made me terribly sick. typically I use it in my raisin bread (2 tablespoons in a whole loaf). I think I will stick to just using it in my bread from now on! Cheri
Guest guest
> Hi lots of energy yes, spaced out, ungrounded and disembodied, haven't experienced that myself. Maybe you should build up gradually say 1 teaspoon with every meal and build up from there. I was taking 3-4 tablespoons a day without any problems except in the beginning i had sore throat and palpitations, a detox symptom i think. Guest guest
Thanks Cheri, What you said is interesting. I too eat very well and am in very good health. Perhaps our systems are sensitive and perhaps don't need as much either. The oil is very powerful for sure. I am going to try a teaspoon after a couple of days and see how I feel. Thanks. > > > In a message dated 12/16/2006 2:41:59 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, > djestes@... writes: > > I started taking extra virgin coconut oil on toast in the morning about two > weeks ago. Guest guest
It sounds like you need to back down on the amount you are taking. Go slow .Try starting with a tsp 3 times a day then slowly add more and see how you tollerate it. The coconut oil can cause a die off of yeast and Bad bacteria in your body and releasing toxins that your body has to deal with. that could be what is making you feel spaced out.Energy is what coconut oil does for me. Just get used to it gradually. The detox is pretty intense anyway. If you are a new user , it might be too harsh. Results may be faster , but you have to make it through the cleanse. Guest guest
Yes you are experiencing metabolism!!! Lol something so many of us hypo's especially have never known....I make my toast just heaped with the coconut on it - unfortunately I don't get as good a reaction as you. If possible try spacing out your amounts ie only 1 tablespoon in the morning and if possible one at lunch and one at dinner and see how that goes. I try and take flaxseed oil capsules when I can't get my VCO in. also helps with your metabolism.
