Guest guest
Well, Jo, the answer to that is 'no, I didn't!'. If I really wanted to stop smoking then I would have done that but actually I enjoy a cigarette and so far, at the age of 62, my lungs are just fine - I had them checked not very long ago. I'm also very active and bursting with energy - far more than many of my non-smoking friends of younger years! If I believed it would harm me, then no doubt it would! That's the whole point of what I'm trying to get across here. And quite honestly, after almost 50 years of smoking, I think my body would go into shock (that is, if I believed it would!) if I stopped its nicotine supply. I hope this answers your question. > > I am curious , did you tell yourself that you didn't need to waste money and your lungs on smoking there fore quit that also? Guest guest
, I beg to disagree with you on smoking I believe your fooling yourself , that you don't want to quit smoking because you enjoy it . I used to say that too. deep inside I wanted to quit because I was a slave to it , had to have that smoke after eating , if the phone rang if I had a tense situation on & on . I hated it and I hated the price monetarily and now days it's out outrageous waste of good dollars . I quit and I couldn't believe I could SEE better . I could HEAR better ,I could BREATH better, I could SLEEP better and I had more time to do things because not in a hurry to have that smoke .plus I saved tons of dollars . why would you be on a health related forum and not admit to the proven bad effects of smoking and say it doesn't harm you .? makes no sense. warmly Jo -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: " Boyce " <bibi@...> > Well, Jo, the answer to that is 'no, I didn't!'. Guest guest
How would you deal with anxiety or depression with the power of the mind? Do you face the problem and then tell it to go away? Boyce <bibi@...> wrote: Hi everyone I've just been catching up on the forum's postings and have read the discussions about 'flu vaccinations and related illnesses and thought I would add my contribution, although I'm certain there will be many skeptics out there (but hopefully not!). I just want to tell you my story and let you try for yourself. You may remember from a previous posting a while back that I believed that all illness was 'of the mind' but today I want to go one step further by saying that all illness is 'a decision of the mind', although it all depends upon how powerful your belief is if you really want it to work. Here's my story: Back in 1997, before I retired, I was working as a temp in a very small office which I shared with two young (and delightful) young ladies. Unfortunately, they were always coming in with their coughs and sneezes and, because I believed I would catch whatever they had, invariably I did. Not only did I catch a cold, but I would go down with the 'flu, and, because I am a smoker - as some of you might remember - this would invariably be followed by bronchitis, which would lay me up for weeks at a time. Now, being a temp, I just couldn't afford to be sick because I didn't get paid for any time I wasn't in the office, so, as you can imagine, I was doubly desperate. I had read many books about the power of the mind so I decided to put the power of MY mind into practice. I decided that I wasn't ever going to catch a cold, the 'flu, or bronchitis ever again. Just that! And I truly, truly meant it with all my heart! I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I have NEVER had a cold, the 'flu, or bronchitis since that day in 1997 - and that's nine whole years of freedom! I have had the odd 'sniffle' but, as soon as that happens, I say to myself " Now, hang on - you don't get colds, remember? " And as quickly as the 'sniffle' arrives, its gone - never to return - I promise you! Now, at the risk of being laughed at (but please remember that I'm only here to help!) I have also used the power of my mind over pain - that is until I found the benefits of the Chinese healing that I've already posted about. I have used it on the pain of a tooth abscess and also pain that I had on the ball of my foot. This was all years ago but I'll never forget the wonderful relief I felt. I'll tell you about the abscess and how the pain just disappeared. What you have to do is 'talk' to your pain. (They're coming to take me away, ha ha!) Yes, I mean really talk to it - and keep talking to it. Make up anything you want but include the words " you're not welcome in my body " . This will probably prove very entertaining to you all but this is roughly what I said: " Now look here, little fella, you know that I don't have the time or the money to get you sorted right now so I'd appreciate it if you'd leave my body because you're just not welcome in it. Once you've hit the trash bag, they'll take you off to a much bigger dump where you'll just rot and be forgotten about forever. You won't have the glory you're having now, I promise you. You'll end up just a nobody. If I were you, I'd take my advice and get out while the going's good because really, you're not at all welcome in my body ... etc. etc. " Every moment I had, I'd ramble on and it finally worked - and so well that I forgot all about it until, when I finally went to the dentist and had the tooth pulled, the dentist said " Did you know you had an abscess on this tooth?
