I just bought an Entech Meter that plugs into the outlets, if I just knew how to

use it! The Stezterizer also tests the outlets.

Good to know about overdoing the Quantums. Maybe I'll start off slowly, by

buying one strip for my bedroom and one outlet for my fridge.

I guess with all these strips/outlets, i won't need the Quantum Home?

Have you tried the Quantum personal that fits in your pocket or the Auto Clear?

Those test the outlets for *noise*. What I meant was to check to see

if the neutral and hot wires are wired to the correct prong on the

outlet. Sometimes they are reversed (although I'm not clear what

the ES implications are if they are)

It's possible. You could probably just invest that money into

other means of improving your health (heavy metal chelation, etc.),

which will diminish your sensitivities so that you don't have to

be so concerned about noise on the powerlines.

Yes, I use both of these things. The Quantum Companion is

helpful when outside of the home (grocery stores, work, airports, etc.),

and the Auto is of course good for the car (and with the proper adapter,

the Auto could be used inside the home as well)

If there was a problem with the wiring wouldn't the surge strip sense it? I know

mine have a wiring fault warning light.

I will try the personal and car items after I try the strips and outlets.

Is there a website about these Quantums? I've been reading your emails and been

wondering then if they would help me. I know we have some bad wiring in this

house but without me living out of it for a while we can't get into

reconstruction. My husband did ground properly a few of the circuits. Would

then this Quantum stuff help? Can you enlighten me?

Thanks,

Kris

There *is* a website that you can read and order stuff:

http://quantumproducts.com/

Loni tried a Quantum Home and noticed nothing. A few others I know have

tried them and noticed an improvement. I've tried at least 50 EMF

protection devices, and this is the one product line that has helped

me the most with florescent lights, computers, and EMF coming

into the house from the outside.

They have a money-back guarantee. Loni has confirmed that it works. :-)

Interesting site. Wish they gave more solid info though. What questions did you

ask them?

This is my exact email. As you can see I ask a lot of questions!

Hello,

I want to try your products but I have some questions.

I live in a small 1 bedroom apt. I am planning on doing the following:

Place a Quantum 7 Powerstrip in my bedroom to plug in an air cleaner and other

small electronics.

Place a Quantum 3 Prong Outlet where my fridge/toaster oven is.

Place a Quantum 5 Prong Outlet where my Computer/Monitor/Priner/Modem is plugged

into a Battery BackUPS/AVR and plug that BackUPS directly into the Quantum

Outlet, along with an air cleaner. (And Vacuum Cleaner when I use it)

Place a Quantum 3 Prong Outlet where my TV/VCR/Modem/DVD Player is plugged into

a Brickwall Line Conditioner Surge Protector and plug the Brickwall directly

into the Quantum Outlet along with a floor lamp and Electric Heater.

My questions:

Does this sound like a good plan?

Is it OK to plug in battery BackUPS and Surge Suppressors into your Outlet

Products?

Is it possible to use too many of your products at once?

Would I still need to use the Quantum Home if I have all of those other Quantum

Products in use?

Do you plan on coming out with a Quantum Monitor product that will work with DVI

Ports?

I tried downloading a trial of your software but my computer couldn't open it (I

have a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard-OSX 10.6)

> Marc, what product would you recommend starting with?

I'd recommend you start cheap and see if you notice

anything from the technology. So if you have a Windows

PC, download the free-trial software and install it,

and see if your PC is any more tolerable.

Or, try the $30 Quantum power conditioner and plug

something into it that's been bothering you, and see

if anything improves because of that.

If these tests are successful, you could either

buy a couple more power conditioners and use them

wherever the problem areas are (TV, stereo, PC,

bedroom, fridge), or you could buy one of the more

powerful/expensive units that treats a large

area (Quantum Pro or Quantum Home). Or both --

the more you use, the stronger the effect.

Yes, and I don't think the person who answers the questions at

Quantum Products is going to be able to (accurately) answer

questions regarding other companies power strips. Nor may

she appreciate the wild range of reactions that an electrosensitive

person might have to these things.

Sometimes the only way to answer your questions is to simply

try it and see what happens...

I just wanted to know if they thought it was OK to plug a surge suppressor strip

ot battery backUP into their outlet products. I assume it would be OK but have

no idea what is in their products and how they work

I'd do it the other way around, personally. Your Brick Wall (or a Furman)

is a better surge protector than the Quantum Power Conditioner, so that

should be plugged into the wall, and the Quantum can be plugged into that.

Actually, I was thinking of getting the Outlet form of the Quantum (not the

strip) and plugging the brickwall or Furman directly into it. Just want to make

sure that is OK. I really don't need another strip in those areas, I'm just

going to put the quantum strip in my bedroom.

Hi Steve,

You ask:

I guess with all these strips/outlets, i won't need the Quantum Home?

(me:)

Actually it would more likely be the other way around.  With the Q Home, you

might not need strips and outlets.

(you:)

Have you tried the Quantum personal that fits in your pocket or the Auto Clear?

(me:)

I personally tried the Q Companion, but it did not work for me.  I think that

is because where I live is more in the country--you are either in very high emfs

or in none, and in the car you are constantly travelling in and out of them.  I

couldn't set the Q Companion to work for that situation while in a car.  It was

either set too high or too low.  It didn't seem to compensate for this

situation.  I think it would work, however, in a city setting where emfs are

more constant.

My 2 cents,

Diane

According to Margi at Quantum, the strips act more to calm the electronics

themselves and prevent them from interfering with the wiring, while the Quantum

Home acts to protect the home from outside interference.

Interesting about the companion. I'm definitely not in the country so maybe it

would help me. Good thing they have a money back guarantee

Battery UPS back ups are not a good idea unless you really

need the computer to stay up during a power outage. Usually

a surge protector is enough to protect the computer... though

you should have a hard drive back up of some kind.

The magnetic field near those battery units is high, and

as the battery is being charged the power is not that clean.

I think the main reason the polarity of plug matters is

they design things so the shock hazard is less if wired right.

It can also allow a big reduction in the electric field near the

surface of the appliance if wired right, but most manufacturers don't

seem to take advantage of that.

Can't speak to the Q home, since I have the Pro, but the Pro definitely works

with the wiring in the house, too.  I thought the Home was the same as the Pro

tho, only for a smaller area.

Yeah, the Quantum Home is simply a weaker version of the Pro (and without

the fine-tune button on the back)

I'm thinking of replacing the BackUP with a Furman Strip. I'll then plug the

Yes, its the same thing just for a smaller area. Thats the explanation she gave

me. I can't think of another reason why they would also sell the strips/outlets,

unless its for people who don't want to spend at least $390 for the Quantum

Home.

I don't even know if it can be measured. I ordered the powerstrips and outlets

not based on knowledge thats for sure because I have no idea why they should

work. I do know that I downloaded the software for my computer and one thing I

noticed is that icons on my desktop that took a little while for the screen to

draw suddenly pop up instantly. Wierd.

I think that might be a coincidence... :-)

What I have noticed from the Quantum Byte software is that my face

will be less red after using the computer, and there will be less

" burning skin " symptoms. Also, it may appear that the image on

the screen is crisper/clearer. I'm not sure if that is due to

the effect it's having on the monitor, or the effect it is having

on my vision. :-) (but they do sell this sort of technology

in the audio/video industry, to make the audio/video quality

better)

I noticed it seems a little softer, not so glaring. I will know more after

playing around for a few days. I just ordered the strips and outlets so I will

report back on those as well.
