Did you look at the short term and long term effects? Did you also read the multitude of expert opinions. Since I'm an open minded person I'd like to see where you get your counter argument from, in additon to the bankrupt Atkins society. I'm not upset that you are healthy.......I just don't like seeing others people led astray by dangerous fad diets. " You have referenced ONE site. There are thousands of sites, studies, articles, doctors, books, researchers, scientists, and people that live and study a healthy low carb life. You found ONE site that says the same thing. It's meant to regurgitate the same thing over and over. Why don't you look up other places that don't start with the name Atkins, or some other negative comment about the man. As to the bankruptcy of this company, I have already addressed this as it was taken over by others after his death which, has nothing to do with how he ran his business or what he believed in. It's merely there to make a buck for the share holders that can no longer cash in on the crap foods that the poser low carb followers have abandoned. I believe I've mentioned more than once that I do not follow the Atkins plan to the letter but have read most of his books, and have read many more by other authors and doctors in this field. I prefer the term " Banting " as what I do but, I'm sure you have no choice but to ignore this also. Banting dates back to the 1800's which is when the first low carb plan was documented. Before him, was the many native people of many different countries and primitive cultures who have eaten and still eat a low carb diet. How long does this way of eating have to be considered safe or not a fad to you? I think over 100, better yet, thousands of years is enough for me. Are you at all familiar with " Paleo " ? I suggest you get over the name and get on with the subject which goes way beyond the most popular doctor of the low carb plans. Again, how can something so dangerous be so helpful to people who were once unhealthy? Forget about my opinion and forget about yours. Look at the people who are the living proof that this is not only, NOT dangerous, but very healthy. Believe it or not but, there are many people that have lived this way much longer than the bogus so-called studies you believe so wholeheartedly in. Longevity is the best proof/revenge. Too bad you can't be happy for those of us that have reaped the benefits. Why is that? __________________________________________________
