Oh dear, oh dear, I seem to have caused a lot of various responses with this

e-mail, which, was, nothing more, nothing less, than a joke, a laugh at

ourselves.

In fact, it was told to me by one of the group of guys I drink with. They are

all 'average size' but feel sufficiently comfortable with me, and me with them,

for us to be continually joking on, sometimes at the expense of one of us, and

in this particular case, at my expense. I love it!

I think the most interesting response to that joke, came from Willow, who is

'average size'. It always amazes/interests me, the difference in 'view points'

(excuse the obvious pun), between how and average size person perceives our

problems (or what they THINK are our problems) and how we see them.

From: " MAYCIE EVANS " <vondoggie.1@...>

> See, I am really reaching, no pun intended.:-) From this post I got that

the guy was feeling vulnerable and went to the other's floor so that no one

knew where he got off.

I never even THOUGHT of this, and I am one of those guys! However, coming from

an 'average size person', our Willow has wonderful insight into our problems,

and how we think and react at times!

Didn't even occur to me that he couldn't reach the

buttons (I mean why would he be in the lift if that were the case?).

Er, erm, just cos we can't reach the buttons, is no reason not to use the

lift:-) We have ways of making them rise and fall!

Interestingly enough, the lift at our hospital has buttons inside the lift which

we can easily reach. BUT, the call buttons on the outside of the lift are WAY

too high!

I didn't really see it as a joke either. It struck me as a commentary on

vulnerability. Hmm, it just goes to show how differently things are

percieved by different people, huh?

You are dead right Willow, and you are lovely for it! Such beauty as you

represent, would indeed be shear pleasure to be stuck in a lift with:-) But

then, sad, sad, if you WERE in the lift, YOU could reach the buttons. No

justice in this world:-)

Best wishes

Fred
