No it doesn’t make sense. But it seems to work for some people.

The calorie theory is not what it is cracked up to be. If it were this would be

the skinniest country on the planet. The human body

does not digest food the way a fire burns wood or coal or anything else. But it

sounds so logical that the “experts” keep preaching

it.

How can digesting 3 tbs of coconut oil per day help in weight loss

if you are taking in an extra 375 calories just by doing this. It

does not make sense. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 1996.

Hypothyroidism about 2 years later and since then I have been unable

to lose any weight.

Hi

I can verify that eating a Gluten Free diet helps lose weight. Take care that

you are getting enough calcium though as bread has it added! As I have said

before on here, I have read that there is a connection between autoimmune

diseases and gluten so worth a try.

Most definitely there is a connection between gluten and

autoimmune disease (Hashimoto's). Thyroid antibodies absolutely THRIVE on

Gluten, so if you want to lower your levels of antibodies, go on a completely

gluten free diet.

Hi. I've been following a 'paleolithic' diet for the past 16 weeks now, having

never been able to lose weight on any diet before too. I'm on T3 as well and

this time I'm losing weight! It's wonderful! I've lost over a stone and a half

and I've gone down two dress sizes so far. I eat almost anything I want and as

much as I want, but I don't have any grain products, so no bread, pastry, cakes,

and I avoid starch, such as potatoes. AS for the rest of it, well, I generally

have bacon and eggs for breakfast. I eat meat and fish and vegetables and salad.

I don't avoid fats, but generally stick to those that I consider 'natural' like

butter and lard and oils like olive and rapeseed. I've lost weight steadily at

around 2 lbs a week and I feel great. I can still eat chocolate in moderation,

if I want to, and I still have a glass or two of wine fairly regularly. Don't

give up! Just continue trying and learning about your body and what it needs.
