A day to remember

Today Is Not Just For Him

Today is not like other days, for it is the day to remember a man

who gave of himself, sacrificed much, and taught the world that

pain eats away the heart and a soul can become hardened.

As Luther King, Jr. said, " we have a dream " and with that

he gave every once of all he had so others could have more

freedom. Perhaps there were times he himself held anger, but he

worked hard to give so others may live the lifes they so

deserved.

It is not the color of one's skin that makes one different nor

accepted. It is the thoughts and the hate one chooses to display

or secretly hold inside. It is believing that one is better than

another, and not accepting a person for whom they are, and not

what one believes they should be like.

To dream a dream of the future, where all men, women and children

may walk the streets and be admired is a dream that is slowing

coming true. How sad to think the dream is not always working

into the minds of those with prejudice and hate.

To all men there is a purpose, and that purpose is accepting, and

love to understand all who walk this earth today.

The fights still remain among people here on earth that others

should die because of whom they are. Wars

and conflicts still cover the lands with the blood of men, women

and children; the people of many nations.

Luther King, Jr. DID have a dream. Today, the people he

spoke of carry the same jobs and the same loves and desires

others do. They are no longer slaves to those who believed them

to be of a lower spieces. However, not all have chosen to

welcome them with open hearts.

Today, as every day should be, let us all open our hearts to

everyone, regardless of color, race, creed, religion, or any

differences they may have. They are our brother and our sister,

no matter what the age or other differences.

It is truly not the color of a person's skin that makes the

difference in life. It is the believing that we are all equal,

and love as one would hope we would love and accept.

(Speech given by Debi on the morn of Luther King, Jr. day

several years ago, and has appeared in numerous papers around the

world).

Holding onto the dream.

I am so happy for both of you. I know what a huge accomplishment that is, and it's a game that can be played with anyone and anywhere!! Yippee! Thanks for sharing your success. We aren't at games yet, but hopefully it will be in our future too. When our kids do something that you have been wishing for it makes us so happy, and so proud that you feel like your going to bust!!

CONGRATS!!

Today.. February 19, I played a game , a typical game, of UNO with my 15 year old son. To me, this is worth millions. I never thought I would hear him talk when he was little.. and he does now.. but to initiate card games... his great teacher at school got him started.. is a major event. Only you all would understand this.. how it brought tears to my eyes.. a game.. that he loves to play and can make friends with.. he is now asking for the game.. trouble... peace, Lia

Great story! My girls love Pizza Party and old game from 1987. My 12

year old uses it in school and her teacher sent it home to show me

how much language it brings out. I found one on ebay! Game can be

an neat way to connect with our kids.
