Guest guest
plastic leeches into food. anythingh stored in it. I neverreally totaslly understood, but i am slowly getting rid of tipperware and changing to glass storage containers, ( not cheap or easy to find) we just started getting fresh milkin glass bottles the milk is much sweeter, and there's no junk in it. that is the only reasom I can think of plastic would be bad. Shalom [lists] Nutiva in plastic jars Hello all, I recently ordered my VCO from Nutiva as their price is much better than the Fresh Shores brand I previously got from Mercola. When it arrived yesterday I noticed that it's packaged in plastic jars rather than glass. I remember Dr. Mercola warning against plastic containers for storage and wonder if anyone has any knowledge as to whether this could effect the VCO in any way? Best, Dolores --- avast! Guest guest
Do you think if we transferred it to glass jars when we get it that would be OK? I usually buy enough to last several months. Guest guest
Pretty much if you buy your oil in gallons, as I do, you are going to get it in plastic....so what I do is transfer it all to glass once I open it - hoping that is helping. I was told, may or may not be correct, that it is after something is opened and exposed to the air that the plastic gets really bad for you.. But VCO is expensive enough without having to buy it in smaller jars!!!! SeaLady
Guest guest
Thanks Sealady and to all who responded about the VCO in plastic jars. I have decided to take your advice and transfer it to glass jars after opening. Now why didn't I think of that :-). It should make it easuer use that way, too, as the gallon jar is pretty unweildy.
