Guest guest
I've just been reading all the post on Atkins...I think if you follow his diet in a HEALTHY way it probably is just that healthy....but I am sure everyone on here knows of a person or persons who go on Atkins and just think it is a " free for all " to eat tons and tons of meat, fat, cheese and bacon... The good ole American way...always too much. I DID read his book, and I DID do the diet way back in the mid 70's....I was having some health issues..and someone told me there was a chapter in his book that mentioned that the diet had helped people..so I did the diet and the diet did what all the doc's couldn't.... The diet that I have found that works best is a low carb, low/good fat only, low calorie diet...so low in everything and everything in moderation... It is the only thing that has worked well for me and with being hypo that I could lose weight on. Fresh fruit and veggies and lean protein. I do miss living in NH, where we had a fantastic organic food co-op, raised all our own veggies and meat. I live in Florida now....NO food co-ops, just the health food store which is sooooooo expensive. Eating a healthy natural lifestyle seemed easier up there. Well good luck to everyone on starting their diets, continuing their diets and their New Year's resolutions to eat healthier...whatever works for you - go for it!!!!!
