a legal perspective - no charge (this time)

A few posts have been sent as to drugs and children (I'm using the word

" few " in the loosest manner). Being an attorney, though admittedly not the

" highly respected " one alluded to in another recent unrelated post, I thought

I'd offer my perspective from an attorney who practices criminal defense law.

Should parents give their children drugs? Well, to me this is

irrelevant. They can give them drugs or buy them for their children - just

as long as drugs are received and that the drug is a controlled substance.

Also, as far as assisting my practice, the procurement doesn't have to be

limited to their children. The transfer can be to any child - thus allowing

the opportunity for my services to expand.

As for whether certain controlled substances should be legalized, I

think this would be a huge mistake. I believe more drugs should be illegal -

aspirin, tylenol, tums, rolaids - basically everything. Now some may be

cynical enough to think that the only reason I'm advocating this position is

because it would be associated with a larger potential client pool. But I

would have to be a cold, calculating, manipulative person to do that.

Nevermind - let me take another approach. One would have to think I'd be

mercinary - oh, just forget it. I'd represent people for free if I could -

coughcoughcough. Hmm, where did I put that dang bottle of robitussin

(another helping device that is unfortunately, legal).

In closing, I'll leave you with this one thought: some drugs are our

friends and some drugs are our very good friends. Well, that was two

thoughts, but what do you expect, I'm an attorney. Remember i'm h.t.h. (here
