Guest guest
A while back someone in my kefir group said/posted that they use coconut oil as a deoderant. They rub a little on their underarms. It absorbs well, does not stain their clothes and it works great. Plus, I'm thinking since our skin is our biggest organ, it seams like another good way to take it into our body. Has anyone tried this? This is probably a silly question to ask a coconut oil group, but I'm a newbie and just wondering you're experiences on the matter. aireph
Guest guest
On the other Nut site, explained that although VCNO does not kill bacteria, it prevents them from growing. Guest guest
I have used Tropical Traditions coconut oil deodorant, it has other ingredients in it as well. At first the " woody " smell is pretty strong, but it either gets less or we got used to it. My husband stopped using it (he works on a pig farm) because it wasn't lasting all day for him, but it worked fine for me as long as I showered each day (if I would wait till the next morning to shower it had wore off by then). At the end of my pregnancy it caused an allergic reaction and I had a horrible rash so I stopped using it till after the baby. Then it wasn't strong enough, it would only last a half a day, but I may have just been perspiring more. My husband asked me to go back to a town bought deodorant, so I haven't tried it again yet. Anyway...just my experience... Caitlin Lorraine A while back someone in my kefir group said/posted that they use coconut oil as a deoderant. They rub a little on their underarms. Since I have a stockpile of several sticks of deodorant, I'm not going to throw them out just yet but plan to use them up. But I do apply coconut oil first and let it absorb a bit.
