Annette,

There are two things I would like to ask you:

a) Is the Philippine Oil you sell to your customers treated with refrigeration

and then put out in an 80+degree F room temperature and then let the oil come

out on its own?

We use the above method, and then using very very very low heat and filtering in

between has given us a very good kind of oil. Very clear and transparent, very

light and tasteless. When I put it on oatmeal I could not taste it. When I put

it in very hot coffee then a very slight trace of the coconut oil is present and

yet because of the very slight taste of the coconut oil and lightness of the

oil, it didn't make me want to puke anymore.

To show you the low level of temperature we use, a 220V electric stove is

connected to 110V outlet and we used the lowest setting which is warm. We leave

it there for a few hours. The oil does not even get hot at all but the water

somehow disappears. We leave our oil on the kitchen countertop for weeks and

sometimes months, depending on how much we make, and it does not change at all.

I know of a lady who produces very good oil almost like ours (I just don't know

what method she uses, definitely not enzyme) and she exports to Japan. Japan is

stricter than the US when it comes to the quality of food they let in to their

country. She also sells locally and at a very low price compared to the other

out in the market here.

Have you heard of coconut oil extracted by enzyme? There is someone who

experimented using enzymes from vegetations. He was able to extract oil, but

the test showed that the oil was high in linoleic acid. Is that bad? If so,

why? Its lauric acid content is just like the other oils around.

I did not consider anything she said slanderous, she is just stating facts as

she sees them. Funny how no one on the TT group is interesting in anything most

of us have to say unless it is a competitor. cracks me up!

Slander is " a false and malicious oral statement injurious to a

person's reputation, " so yes, telling incorrect things about a

competitor's product is improper to say the least. I'm not assuming

any malicious intent, and she may be innocently relying on old

information, but if she got the numbers on TT wrong, it's only

appropriate that point that out. I'm not for or against any

manufacturer or reseller and I'm glad to let anyone speak about their

own product so I can evaluate for myself. Since TT has its own e-mail

group, why *would* they interfere with this one except to correct

misconceptions about their product? Really!

I agree with you 100% on the Tropical Traditions e-group. Seems TT has their

nose in all the e-groups so that they can put their 2 cents in. I was once a

member of their (TT) e-group, but since

they moderate it, and only let the good information out about their product go

through, then I really don't see much use of it for myself. You can not write

about finding any deals on VCO anywhere else, plus they advertise on it. I want

a public forum to let you write about any VCO, not just Tropical T's.

Annette, thanks for the insight. I thought that scratchy throat was something I

only experienced.

Judith, this is typical of the TT people and the reason I left the

group and wouldn or buy their products again. Lack of courtesy is a

big turn off. Onthe otherhand, Annette's comments, right or wrong,

were put forward in a friendly tone - you did not get the

impressionshe was trying to put down TT, or promote her own products

above theirs. Even if she made a mistake, it was most likely an

honest one.

I never said he wasn't.. My question is why he even feels the need to be here

when they won't let other people post on their group? It mystifies me to no

end. I notice that a lot of people are not good enough to post on their list

but we are good enough for them to come around here when they think they are

being slandered.
