It has a very different fatty acid profile than coconut oil, but it is also very nutritious. It is extremely high in carotenes and vitamin E. It is my opinion that palm oil is *the* best source of vitamin E. While it has considerably less than wheat germ oil, it is more cost-effective than wheat germ oil by an extremely large margin, and, it has a *much* higher E to PUFA ratio than wheat germ oil, which, it seems to me, makes it richer in vitamin E in terms of net E gain, since the PUFA increases your need for antioxidants. Additionally, it has a much fuller spectrum of vitamin E, being very high in tocotrienols. Palm oil is also the most ecologically efficient (yield oil per acre) plant oil. The Tropical Traditions stuff is a deep orange/red. Palm oil cannot replace coconut oil, since it does not have significants of any of the fatty acids unique to coconut oil. Guest guest
Hi . interstingabout Palm oil; however, I do not want to add another oil to my diet as coconut oil plus olive and butter are enough. I eat wheat germ every day, not just for health but because I love the taste. How much vitamin E do I get per tablespoon of wheat germ? How much vitamin E do I get per tablespoon of wheat germ? I don't know... doesn't it say it on the package? I was referring to wheat germ oil, not whole wheat germ.
