Regarding eating VCO and any other food, versus weightloss. Everyone has different body historys and metabolisms, and eating habits, and levels of Discipline, and ideas of what constitutes Good Quality Food. But the bottom line is, energy in / energy out. The quantity (and quality) of food consumed is the KEY to weightloss... Why does an anorexic look the way they do? they don't eat enough! Why does a sumo wrestler look the way they do ? they eat like an elephant! It may be too simple but... wonna lose weight? eat a lot less... AND eat only good quality whole foods as provided by Nature. I've known people who count calories and figure its ok to eat processed sugar foods if its within the calorie count. sunshine and flowers Ric

If only it were that simple. Unfortunately it really isn't. This really is an outdated viewpoint. There is so much more to it. You've left out such things as insulin resistance, the leptrin connection and each individuals various food intolerances. I'm not saying that calories v energy expended isn't important but it's not the whole answer. Many years ago, I attended a weight loss and excercise class. For several months I ate a strict 1200 calorie a day, unprocessed wholefood diet, and excercised regulary. My weight remained at 185 lbs and I was accused of lying about how much I ate. It was only when i learned what foods I was intolerent of and a lot more about insulin resistence that I finally started to lose weight. Every one is different and everyone has to find out for themselves what works for them. Guest guest
Kirsten, I too, have the same issues. I have spent the past 4 years doing low carb or some twist on that. Rarely do I eat more than 1200 a day. I have even been on a physician directed liquid diet. After 4 months and a thousand dollars, he said I was cheating. Obvioiusly I stopped seeing him. I have tried eating small meals several times a day. Completely rid myself of any dairy for 6 months. The last and most recent was no wheat or wheat additives or gluten for 5 months. I eat whole foods. Nothing from a can or a box. Heck I even would measure my food in measuring cups. Nada, I fluctuate only 5 lbs. It has been a nightmare, I do not like being fat. Plump would be fine. But I have to say, that over all I am more healthy. BP and all blood work is excellent. I love my water excersise and walking. I just want to be able to garden with out all that fat pressing on my lungs. ANd yes, I do sea salt and coconut oil and cayene and several supliments. I am now seeing a homeopath and hoping for some results as we peel off the layers. Being fat does not serve me! I just wish it was a simple as less food in, equals lost weight. I have spent hours studying different techiniqes. I also have a degree in Pre-med and can sift thru and understand technical stuff. I so wanted to loose half of this weigth or more before menopause came. Unfortuatly, I think she has arrived. I will just keep pluging away. Maybe what ever mechanism it is in my body will give in. I will not give UP! Sally > > If only it were that simple. Unfortunately it really isn't. This really is > an outdated viewpoint. There is so much more to it. Guest guest
Sally, don't pass this information up, as it can affect both sleep patterns and weight: With your pre-med training you can appreciate that falling HGH secretion, which always occurs with age, can contribute in a big way to metabolic syndrome and weight gain. SomaLife gHP is the patented formula that many anti-aging doctors use to increase HGH but you could also opt for HGH shots. The corroborative evidence for the amino acids approach is on the HGH therapy page I put together a few years back. http://members.shaw.ca/SomaLife-gHP Maybe this part of an anti-aging approach has already occurred to you, and rightly so; I have many elderly clients on the product who would not part with it. My anti-aging protocol is here, maybe other parts of it will interest you as well, considering how important they can be: http://tinyurl.com/8j6oq Duncan On 19 Jun 2007 at 4:02, Coconut Oil wrote: > Re: (sleep probs) WEIGHT LOSS > Posted by: " Sally " Ssandypond@... ssandypond > Date: Mon Jun 18, 2007 5:07 am ((PDT)) > > Kirsten, > > I too, have the same issues.
