Any hydrogenated oil is really really bad. This causes arteries to get blocked

and can cause other illnesses and perhaps cancer too because the hydrogen

residues are still in the oil.

Hydrogenated Coconut Oil

I shop at IKEA which is a furniture...store. They sell a little

section of food. For those of you that dont know what Ikea is it is a

swedish store that is in the US just as it is in Europe. Now I know

that the european people use coconut oil.

I had bought food from Ikea. Cookies...they had hydrogenated coconut

oil on several of the ingredients. SO I guess when it is labelled this

way it is just as bad as the other oils. RIGHT? For it is pressed many

more times. Is this correct?

thanks

I have read about Dr. Fife's published book " The Coconut Oil

Miracle " and was surprised as how trans fatty acid as damaging to our

health. From then on I became aware of it in any product ingredients

list. I understand trans fatty acid is a by-product of hyrdrogenation

process of unsaturated fats as per Dr. Bruce Fife. My question is, is

there such thing as hydrogenated coconut or palm oil? Most of the

biscuit products here in the Phils. contains such ingredient label.

If there is, does it contain trans fatty acids? I hope to have a

better understanding of this trans fatty acids.

By the way, I'm into research on coconut oil and it's benefits. I

live in a place where coconut trees are abundant. I want to help the

people in my localities to take advantage of this abundant resources

through training. Need help on research materials to have a more

effective training.

Thanks a lot!

Alot, Strangely enough yes some companies do hydrogenate coconut oil. I think it

may raise the smoke point. I noticed that the brand of refined oil that was sold

by Walmart in my town was hydrogenated .Also the coconut oil sold for pop corn

is often hydrogenated. Always check the lable to see what you really have.

Hmm. My Lou Ana lable just says ingrediets: coconut oil. It doesn't say

hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated. If it is hydrogenated does it have to

be labled that way? Does hydrogenated coconut oil have the same risks as other

hydrogenated oils?

Yes it would have to say so in the lable. So your Coconut oil is safe from

Hydrogenation.Maybe it was another brand I am thinking of.
