Guest guest
sorry - I think you should request a 5 hour test for blood sugar and find out exactly what your pancreas is doing. It took 2 years before they found out I had diabetes - and never did do the 5 hour test. Go get the testing strips at the pharmacy and test when you get up in the morning, before you eat breakfast and at 1 hour and at 2 hours after breakfast. Then test before each meal for a couple of days and you will know if you are managing sugar o.k. or if you need to follow a diabetes - no sugar diet. thea ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- I don’t know. Guest guest
Nothing is wrong with a fasting BS of 106, if you are a diabetic - but if you are not.........it is certainly indicating that you are running above normal and could possibly be a pre-diabetic. There are many things that could have affected you blood tests though.........as well as a couple of other conditions that influence the BS such as thyroid conditions etc. certain medications can also increase and do you remember just what you ate the night before?? Using whey and coconut oil can help keep your BS more level and stop the spikes and stop the killing of your beta cells in your pancreas...... Guest guest
Alabar is SOOOOOO right on this - look at this guys website: http://www.diabetes-normalsugars.com/ and just read a little bit. The ADA, no offence to anyone who thinks they are great - seems to have some sort of interest in NOT getting people well, maybe their organization like everything else - bigger is always better, does not want cures. Bernstein also, at the age of 47 I think, became a doctor so that the medical community would actually listen to him a little bit - he went at the whole blood sugar thing as an engineer would - it was a pure numbers thing for him. The ADA diet just keeps killing people slowly by recommending fruit and carbs and exchanges. It is NO different really than those with Celiac Disease - there are just some things that they cannot eat - same with a diabetic, not just sugar, but anything that burns as a sugar......... SeaLady I have not been to a doctor in over 6 years. I do not trust them, and my money is far better spent of healthy foods, vitamins, and supplements. When I was going to the doc, she sent me to a class led by a dietician. The dieticians wanted me to take a high carb diet, which, IMO, is just plain nuts. Many of the so-called diabetic complications sure seem to me to arise from high blood glucose levels, and from the " side effects " of diabetic meds. Which is why I control my blood sugar with a low carb diet and take no diabetic meds. The hospital dietician who gave the class I attended informed us that almost all diabetics eventually die from diabtic complications. With those odds, it seemed to me I was far better off doing my own research and figuring out my own way to deal with diabetes. If I am still here in another 20 years with liver, kidneys and heart working fine, I guess I will be able to say my way is better. Until then, low carb is just my opinion. Likewise, I do not trust much of the material I have read on the ADA website. I knew someone diagnosed with diabetes the same year as I was (2001) who was a bit younger than me. I was born in 1945. He took his meds, followed the ADA diet, and he died in 2005. I have managed to reverse much diabetic neuropathy (which the doc told me is not possible) and it is now easier to get a drop of blood from my finger than it was several years ago, so it seems to me that my peripheral circulation is probably improving. So it seems to me that my approach is showing benefits. Alobar

And it is also why the med schools teach only snythetic T4 meds for hypothyroid conditions. T4 only treatment does not work for a huge number of people, (from what I read online it doesn't work for the majority),and keeps them hypothyroid and ill. And for people with hyper thyroid, from what I read online, most are pressed hard to have radioacitve ablation of their thyroid glands, leaving them hypothyroid for life. Might be necessary for some, but it seems to be the first line treatment instead of a last resort, and some docs literally frighten people into it. People sick with hypothyroid (and adrenal fatigue) are cash cows for the medical establishment and for the pharmaceutical industry. They get meds for diabetes, high cholesterol, for heart conditions (particularly congestive heart failure) for atrial fibrillation, for muscle aches and joint pains, and on and on, and particularly int he case of adrenal fatigue, boy, meds for allergies are hugely profitable, plus allergy testing. Allergies are cash cows for the med/pharma industry too. The whole medical/pharmaceutical complex in this country is based on maintaining the highest possible number of people in a state short of actual death that requries the largets possible number of drugs and other treatments and surgeries. And it works so well it looks from the outside as if it was purposely designed to maximize profits and minimize health. Further to some extent the also huge alternative health industry profits, the sicker people get and the more they are maintained in sickness, the more likely they are to turn to herbs, and supplements and other alternative treatments. Guest guest
You know, there are organizations that really do try to help people and the American Diabetes Association is one of them. I don't see them protesting what this doctor is teaching. There are the drug companies whose interest is apparently to keep people purchasing their products The American Diabetes Association doesn't sell that much that individuals associated with it is profiting. It is made up mainly of people that have diabetes, or that have an interest in helping people with diabetes. Their funds are used to promote camps for Juveniles with diabetes and to provide funds for research. Before insulin and diabetic medication, many people simply died. The controlled carbohydrate diet that has promoted has helped people to keep their blood sugars under control. If there is a better way to do it, then that is great. I really don't think their is a conspiracy behind every rock. Determinations are made on how to help people with the latest research. If that research is wrong, then it eventually comes out. Yes, some people have an interest in covering this research up, but the American Diabetes Association is largely made up of individuals that have Diabetes or who have family members that have diabetes. It is in all of our best interest to find answers and a cure. The American Diabetes promotes research to find a cure. I'm sure they would cele brate and close their doors gladly if a cure were found and they were no longer needed. I am not presently a member of the American Diabetes Association and will in no way benefit from their organization. If people choose to do what this doctor is teaching and it works for them, then good for them. It seems a bit extreme, but if I had diabetes, I'd be looking at keeping it under control. If I couldn't keep it under control with the knowledge I have now about it, then I would certainly be looking at what this doctor is teaching. Oh, and I do take Armour thyroid meds., not the synthetic ones that don't work for me. I don't think the docs benefit from trying to talk me in to the other though. You have to protect yourself and be an advocate for your own health. Research treatments and medicationbs, and if you don't agree with something, then you make the health decisions that you believe are right for you. Guest guest
Big Pharm gets richer and richer. Doctors sure get a lot of money for being pushers for the drug companies. Low end staff are often zealots, who are not paid well. But being a zealot and having empathy does not mean one is necessarily correct in the advice or care one gives. I meet lots of people on-line who are survivors of the bad advice given them by doctors, whose wretched experiences got them looking for better ways to approach health. When I just started my quest for alternatives, I quickly realized that I knew far more about human nutritional needs than my doctor or the hospital dietitian. The docs acted threatened when I questioned them. They got real pushy when I told them I was going to stop the diabetic meds. I know people who have had organs cut out or irradiated because the docs insisted. So, yes, there are people here who have grudges against those who push allopathic medicine. Speaking from my perspective, there is always more to learn about human health and diet. It is not about memorizing a dietary approach which may have been helpful back before insulin was discovered. Cultures all over the world have been dealing with the same medical problems for as long as they have had the ability to share ideas and do primitive research. I discovered many plants which aid in blood sugar regulation, help heal insulin resistance in cells, and help regenerate beta cells which were used in other cultures back when insulin was discovered, but the docs and dietitians ignored anything which was not patented by the drug companies. Why is that? Seems to me that the docs and big Pharm want a monopoly so they can make more money. That sure does not strike me as being in the least bit empathetic. I read the results of a survey a few years back. Oncologists were asked what they would do if they had cancer. Most would NOT do the things they routinely do to others. They know if they stray from accepted medical practice they will lose their license. So they poison, carve up and irradiate people who suffer from cancer even though they would do something different for themselves. It would seem that money trumps empathy in those oncologists. Docs and dietitians who refuse to learn other information, outside the narrow tunnel vision of allopathic medicine, are doing their patients a grave disservice, which, imo, should be prosecuted as manslaughter and criminal negligence. MORE important is stem cells.....why oh why does this country continually say that stem cell research is bad, is un-christian etc. I'll tell you why...MONEY. Stem cell replacement has been done now for over 12 years to replace the lost beta cells in your pancreas - why is this not being done??? Because if you cure your diabetes you won't need that Endro, you won't need those test strips which cost a fortune, you won't need the cardiologist from the heart complications, the specialist for your feet and testing of your veins etc.... They would lose BILLIONS of dollars.....it is that simple....the ADA just HAS to be supported and funded with big Pharma drug money...anyone care to bet how much they donate and sponsor every year??? I'll bet it is huge. They keep the myth going to eat a balanced diet...to eat carbs and fruits and follow a low glycemic diet....that will only keep you sick..' Bernsteins diet, along with coconut oil and whey DOES work, the ADA way is just a slow killer. Sorry if I have offended anyone, but I live with a diabetic who has improved 500% since using his diet etc.. I am also walking proof they don't care and don't want to look into anything that cures what ails you. Or bother looking if it is not easy. I don't sleep and never have much, my big question since I was in high school was ...why??? why am I not able to do what everyone else does?? Also why do I not have to shave my legs, under my arms or use deodorant??? Well aren't you the lucky one is the answer I would get....but again....why am I different. Well a logical mind just might say...hmmm maybe something is not right or working in this person, maybe there are other things going wrong.... It wasn't until I was 50 that they found my thyroid was bad.....really bad... And it wasn't until 7 months ago and ONLY when the labs came back bad, NOT for all the years I said I still felt no better since they found the thyroid problem...that they did a MRI and found there was a tumor on my pituitary... Most medical people or docs caring???? NOT from my experience...if it is a mystery, if the drug companies don't have a pill for it.....they are NOT going to do anything to solve your mystery....you WILL just keep suffering...and maybe, just maybe you will find groups like this one where someone might point you in the right direction so you can tell your doctor what is wrong with you.. I am truly hoping that other countries will continue with stem cell replacement and research - you can already get heart stem cells done out of this country, but at least you can get it done and cure yourself of certain types of heart disease.... It is such a shame that money is more important here than life...and it happens in our lives everyday..... There are natural ways to get rid of mosquito's, but do we use them them??? Nope the chemical companies have way too many big lobbyists - a natural way has been around since the early 70's, they even use some of this in Florida, BUT only in places that they can't get the chemical fogger truck into....so let's just keep poisoning us and our kids not to mention getting west nile disease and encephalitis. And don't even get me going on fluoride...another huge benefit to big business and another harmful disease producing chemical for us....and the government of course backs this 100%........ I'll bet their kids drink bottled water. I'll get off my soapbox now.. SeaLady Big Pharm gets richer and richer. Never mind, your understanding of geography is not important to me. I'm leaving the group. I'm too old for conspiracy theorist and at this age, I don't have to be tolerant.
