Guest guest
Mircowave energy is high and acts on food at the atomic level. It could break the unsaturated bonds of oleic and linoleic acids in VCO and form peroxide free radicals. Tony Debbie <DebVerhoeven@...> wrote: Hi, all. I'm fairly new to the whole coconut oil thing. The nausea isn't as bad, but it's still there. (The good news being that it keeps me from snacking.) I've also been experiencing heartburn and some acid reflux (presumably). I tried some ginger tea mixed with green tea, and that seemed to help, but I'm wondering how others have dealt with the nausea. Also, do any of you have any tips on increasing dosages? Also, I was melting it in the microwave to liquefy it, but then read somewhere that microwaving it is a no-no. Guest guest
Debbie, yes you started out with too much oil at first and all at once. Go back to 3 teaspoons 3 times a day and see how that goes, move up slowly. Plus the oil will give you much more benefit if spread out over time unless you were specifically trying to do a cleanse.......the oil will boost your metabolism so over the day that will be better for you too. Guest guest
Thanks. I did cut back and spread it out.I keep some in my desk at work and have it with tea. I still feel nausea, but not as bad now. I suppose the hidden benefit of the nausea is that I'm not snacking ;-) > > Debbie, yes you started out with too much oil at first and all at once. Guest guest
My theory on Nausea is that the oil hits the liver too quickly and in too higher amounts. Poor organ cant cope. I use it as 'butter' and spread it on things. This way its mixed with other things and its more slowly released. VCO is supposed to be in the coconut milk and because its in the milk,it takes a lot longer to be absorbed by the liver. It has to be broken down and the oil slowly released in the gut. The liver is not designed to take such a large hit all at once. The only reason we have VCO is because we dont have access to the milk and cant have both the oil in the milk as well. Its supposed to be taken as milk.
Guest guest
I have had terrible nausea when I have tried cleansing...my dr recommended cayenne extract.... he told me to stop the clease for a few days and then restart with a small amount for a week, then begin to increase slowly... I have now started back in and put the cleansing powder in a capsule and have been drinking lemon juice and cayenne extract and I can now tolerate the cleanse....my dr says that this reactions means there a lots of toxins in the body.... Guest guest
Microwaving anything is a NO! NO! Just Google Microwave Cooking. Cheers, Doug Nausea and Other Side-Effects Hi, all. Guest guest
Yeah, I was going to reply similarilythat there isn¹t any specific reason not to microwave CO....I was reckoning wherever you read it was against microwaving in general. chantelle On 3/1/08 12:46 PM, " Murray " <doublaswalter@...> wrote: > > > > > Microwaving anything is a NO! Guest guest
Liver is not needed to secrete bile to digest VCO. I know people who chug large quantities of coconut oil, cayenne, or other healthy substances and make themselves sick. I sip them slowly, along with other nourishing foods and never have a problem with nausea. For me, the combo of coconut oil, fish oil, and cod liver oil goes really nicely with a 3 ounce serving of whey in ~3 ounces of water. Duncan recommended fish oil and whey a while back.
