Guest guest
Duncan, You say that sunflower seeds are high in omega 6 and that they are not good for inflammation, something to do with the arachidonic pathway. I've been taking GLA in some form or another for years, lately as starflower oil. This is omega 6 isn't it? I found it useful for hormonal problems, pms when that was a problem, now post menopausal. I also thought that this was good for inflammation problems I suffer from inflammation in back and neck. A lady said her daughter's problems started when she had epidurals and was diagnosed with arach? My problems also started when i had epidurals, i always thought it was a misalignment problem but has never been sorted even after endless trips to chiros, oesteopaths etc. I do notice certain things make it flare up. I used to drink red wine some years ago now and that really irritated and made my back flare up. I don't drink at all now and on Bonnie's advice am trying desperately to give up tea completely, bit of a tea aholic as that really helped her. I cut out coffee and down to 3 teas a day, used to have 10 or more a day, plus 1 or 2 coffees. Need to do this for adrenal problems too. So should i be cutting out all these omega 6's as much as possible. My sister-in-law, who also has problems takes strong drugs for inflammation and although i would not go there, she can do so many things now she could not do before. I've tried herbs and all sort to try and combat this inflammation naturally without resorting to drugs. What else should i be taking or not doing to fight this inflammation. I take msm, probably not enough but am gradually increasing it. Vit C and Fish oils, and eat oily fish, so get lots of omega 3. I've decided to give the whey a go because if you have metabolic problems you need more protein and if whey is not acidic like meat that will be better for my inflammation. right? I keep meaning to test my ph balance as that would probably be a good place to start. Do you replace one meal of the day with it? When i said i can't exercise, i meant serious exercise. I do walk the dog, and did manage the rebounder for awhile but now when i use it my neck is bad next day so that's out which is a shame because i really enjoyed using it. So any inflammation reducing advise from anyone would be appreciated. Sally
