Guest guest
She was borderline on needing help just a little behind the norm, she's a second child so first child speaks for her, she points a lot and just doesn't speak well even for her age. it's a huge worry for us. But part of it isn't fair since her sister was talking non stop from 18m. she just found her words and hasn't stopped,e very child is differenta nd we don't want to push either tobe just like the otherm but to express who they are how they are. at the same time I don't want my daughter to not be able to express herself to others who don't know whats he means. We talk of a second opinion, we'll see what the new brings. Thanks for teh advise. she was a preemie as well,s o I am sure that has osme to do with it as well, it has with her teeth. i wonder if her teeth hurting makes it hard for her totalka s well, she has 2 more fillings and one of which will be a crown in a couple weeks, then to decide whattod owth her frontteeth maybe once she isn't in pain she will try her s sounds more? One day at a time, Right now Iw ould be happy to hear her say her name, sleep awhole night in her own bed and not want me anymore. ahh the wants of life how they change once you a mom. Thansk for any help and agains orry if this isn't the right topic for this list. please write me off list so as to not start anything with anyone disagreeing since it's not about coconut, gso or whatever. Thanks again for any help. off to do filing. it's only 9:30pm! LOL Stuck [lists] Re: Speach help? far fecthed for this site? Speaking from both professional expertise and personal experience, get your daughter working with a pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist NOW. " Doesn't see the need " or something like that, is FAR too often believed to be true by parents, or more frighteningly by professionals, but it generally is the start of expressive language struggles and delays, whether articulatory or processing difficulties. This is NOT typical and should NOT be treated with a " wait-and-see " approach. If SL therapy was not strongly recommended by the evaluator, he/she was seriously mistaken. Early intervention can help minimize or even avoid MUCH more significant problems later. Good luck! --- Stuck <Sstuck@...> wrote: > I know strange subject fir a healthy eating being > forum, but I was wondering if there's any speech > therapists in the group that might know of some food > or something that might help my daughter say her s's > better.
