Guest guest
what do you mean again this month? it's a once a month cream? Stuck [lists] Re: Re: hormone therapy-Beth Beth wrote: My experience with progesterone cream has not been this positive but I am taking it again this month....and hoping for better results Hello Beth! Progesterone is produced within the ovary at ovulation, once we enter peri-menopause we ovulate less and less, thus we start producing an abundance of estrogen and a lack of progesterone. Progesterone is needed to balance out excess estrogen. Estrogen domanance can have a whole list of nasty symptoms, weight gain around the tummy, grouchy-ness, fluid retention, the 'typical menopause' personality! If only men knew what we poor gals go thru, <grin>! How do you use your cream? Make sure it is USP progesterone. United States Pharmacopeia (thus USP) sets standards for the quality of pharmacy products. United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) Progesterone simply means progesterone that exactly duplicates the progesterone naturally produced in the body, or " bio-identical " progesterone. The title " USP Progesterone " differentiates natural progesterone from synthetic progestins or progestogens. I was instructed to switch from arm to arm then leg to leg as to rotate the absorption sites. 1/4 of a teaspoon rubbed in really well. Too much of a good thing can be bad so one must measure carefully. I used an actual 1/4 teaspoon at 1st, now i buy a bottle that has its own premeasured pump. I wish you luck! Guest guest
Carol: Saliva Testing is how you find out if you are LOW in Progesterone and actually all your hormones. The test can be ordered from http://www.zrtlab.com/Default.aspx I dealt with this Lab for years until a lab finally was opened here in Canada (the only one in the whole country) a couple of years ago. Bonnie Re: [lists] Re: Re: hormone therapy-Beth Those of you who are using the progesterone cream, don't you need to get tested by a doctor first to actually see " how much " progesterone you need? Every body is so different, that I don't think the cream is a " one size fits all " type of product. I'm sure my supplement supplier used to sell it here in the uk. I've just looked in their health mag they send me and they don't seem to sell it anymore. Just wonder if it's been banned here as well. There was a big shakeup here awhile back as to what supplements hfs etc would be allowed to sell. The Nanny state for you! It makes me so mad when manufacturers are allowed to put artificial sweetners and transfats and god knows what in food. Sally
Guest guest
Sally: I totally agree, we're treated like babies. Around the time Dr. Lee's book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause was published in 1996, Progesterone skin cream seemed to appear here in Canada in Health Food Stores for awhile and then it was CLEARED from the shelves. Later it could be bought under the counter so to speak. It has surely helped a lot of us get through the worst years.
