Guest guest
I know this is the coconut oil forum, but you guys seem to know so much about natural ways to do things that I'm going to ask a question unrelated to coconut oil. I hope you don't mind. I recently had bloodwork done. My numbers were pretty good. Glucose: 65 Triglycerides: under 50 Total Cholesterol: 109 HDL: 22 HDL (the good cholesterol) is supposed to be a minimum of 40, preferrably 60. I know I can raise it by eating walnuts and almonds, but nuts are loaded with fat and calories. I'm working to lose weight right now. (21 lbs.in the last 30 days!) What are natural ways to healthfully raise HDL? ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
, Your figures mean that you LDL is about 77. It (supposedly) should be under 100, so everything looks fine. According to most scientific research, cholesterol doesn't matter, anyway. However, coconut oil raises both LDL and HDL (HDL moreso), so your ratio wil go down (as it should). The ratio now is at the top of the good range (It should be under 5, and yours is 4.95). J. Guest guest
Cayenne is good for the blood in general, as is honey and apple cider vinegar. stay away from white foods. sugar, flour, potatoes, however milk is good depending on your view, some say potatoes are too so it's your perogative on that. having clean blood can help have healthy tests. but rememebr iam no doc just goingby what Ihave read in the last few years. and what my doctor has told me. Good luck Shalom Increasing HDL I know this is the coconut oil forum, but you guys seem to know so much about natural ways to do things that I'm going to ask a question unrelated to coconut oil. Guest guest
Do you realize that with a total cholesterol of 160 or under, you are at greatly increased risk of cancer? sol Durfee wrote: > I know this is the coconut oil forum, but you guys seem to know so much about natural ways to do things that I'm going to ask a question unrelated to coconut oil. Guest guest
: You've come to the right place this time. Coconut Oil is used to IMPROVE your Cholesterol Ratio. My husband is taking it for that very same reason. It's mentioned in one of Dr. Fife's books.
