Some people may not believe that they are being rude by looking at an unusual person inquisitively. I can just imagine a typical LP thinking, " What's up with those Cablinasians? They are so rude with their stares! " Meanwhile the Cablinasian is thinking, " What's up with those little people? They are so rude with their angry little attitudes. " And the LP then thinks, " I've got a good reason to be angry. People keep staring at me. " And the Cablinasian is thinking, " People have a good reason to stare at you. I mean, look at you! " Anyway, the bottom line is that not everyone in the world subscribes to the typical American idea of politeness, that if you see a person who looks odd to you, you're supposed to intently ignore them. I, for one, sometimes find it disconcerting the way people will bump into me like I'm not there, because they're trying so damn hard not to notice my existence. _________________________________________________________
