Guest guest
This might sound odd, but do you know anyone who is breastfeeding? Breastmilk is amazing when it comes to eye infections. Clears up pink eye, styes, all that kind of stuff. You just drop a few drops into the eye, a few times a day. I've used it not only on myself, but my kids with excellent results. Guest guest
Breast milk,i totally agree with you takes care of the eyes and even the ears. when my baby was 6 months old, i travelled to the northern part of my country called Maiduguri in Borno state in Nigeria. It is a very dusty place. my baby had an ear infection, with no medication at hand ,i just pressed in a few drops into his ears and that was it. He was fine., Rita Re: swollen tear duct This might sound odd, but do you know anyone who is breastfeeding? Breastmilk is amazing when it comes to eye infections. I gave him a couple boo boo packs to warm up and some benaryl for the intense itching. I figure dr c's eye bright would help, but noone here can afford to buy it or findit for that matter. He was told about boric acid as well, but no one will sell it to him knowing it's for his eyes. any help? I have looked on earthclicnic.com and herbal legacy. but got little help, will be doing some reading onight. Iwonder if a planitain patch would help? is uposidly have this in my back yard. but not sure what it looks like. Shalom
Guest guest
Have you tried poultices to pull out the infection? It doesn't treat the cause, but, it may help to alleviate/reduce that symptom. -R.A.Silva, L.M.T.- Shalom <Sstuck@...> wrote: this is an infection in his eye. Guest guest
Mud has long been used as a poultice. The Egyptians were masters of it! When my Mom had an eye infection, I used a cool chamomile tea bag. My neighbor got stung by a scorpion & having nothing better around, a cigarette was broken up, mixed with cool water to a paste & applied. It did the trick. The next day, the bite looked more like the product of a mosquito & felt fine. -r- Shalom <Sstuck@...> wrote: LOL i couldn't think of the name i think i mean salve? like a mud type thing. Guest guest
As we all know, the body is composed of many inter-related parts. Therefore, many times something that is happening for example around the eye could be resolved by balancing the body. With that said, rather than treating the swelling around the eye as just an " eye thing " , I would treat it as a " whole body thing " and take 3 grams of Vitamin C and increase the dosage as appropriate. I really don't think VCO is going to be much of a help here since the body doesn't need VCO. But it always needs Vitamin C and Vitamin C is excellent for controlling swelling anywhere on the body. I use it all the time for centipede and scorpion bites. I also make sure I get at least 6 grams of C each day no matter what. phine > > don't forget icthamol (sp?...old remedy still at the pharmacies....don't think it could be used around the eyes...but certainly a winner otherwise > >
Guest guest
I'd be curious if anyone had a remedy to cure a fire ant bite? I got seven just today and spent the afternoon in the ER on an IV.
Guest guest
There is a weed (herb) called plantago major commonly called plantain- grows just about anywhere on the planet. Chew the leaf and place the mash on the bites- works for all insects and the indians even used it for snake bite. I have personally used it for all manner of ants, and spider bites. Takes the sting away instantly and stops the swelling. Yes I have fireants in my yard. We have learned to co-exist. Also have black widows and wolf spiders along with the brown recluse and a host of others as of yet unidentified. zoe > I'd be curious if anyone had a remedy to cure a fire ant bite? > I got seven just today and spent the afternoon in the ER on an IV. > >
Guest guest
Hi phine: Thanks for sharing your holistic approach to health problems. I also apply the approach. But maybe vit C would have different effects to some people. I would like to share my unsatisfactory experience with taking vitamin C supplement. Until 3 years ago I used to take at least 500 mg of vit C supplement every day, and increase it up to 2000 mg during onset of illness. I would get some relief taking it, but the routine would not prevent flu. I still got flu about 1 to 3 times every year. But when I started taking VCO 3 years ago, until now I never had flu. I discontinued taking vit C supplement almost 3 years ago also, and later all vitamin supplements. All I take now as food supplement is 2 to 3 tablespoon of VCO everyday, and I am in much better health. Maybe the human body really needs medium-chain fats. Medium-chain fats would not naturally form part of the essential ingredients in mother's milk if it were not really needed.
