Guest guest
Let me tell you my story and see what you think. I am 58 years old, about 3 years ago I first read about VCO and got very excited. I started taking 3 tablespoons per day and my wife was using it in her baked goods. After about 6 months I started losing weight, which was great, I was 275 and 6' 1. The problem was the other symptoms that turned out to be diabetes. It may have been just coincidental, but I attributed it to the VCO and stopped using it. My Dr put me on Amaryl and the weight came back. In the last couple of months I started getting all these emails from this forum and began reading them again. I must admit I am still skeptical, but I am still open minded. Currently I have a regular exercise program, 6 days per week and trying to limit my sweet intake, (which has met with limited success). About two years ago I read the Swartzbein Diet (sp) and was able to reduce my blood sugar level to the point where I quit taking the medication. I have been off of it ever since and the swartzbein diet, and my morining blood sugar level is starting to rise. I do not want to take any medications. I don't smoke, drink, do drugs and except for the sweet tooth my eating habits are not that bad. Any advice would be appreciated. Guest guest
: All I can say is it lowers my blood sugar, BETTER than the medication and you becoming Diabetic at that time might have been coincidental. Why not try it again? Carefully. If you search for it on ebay you can find a few suppliers. Ive had pure stevia and stevia leaf from UK distributors and 'stevia spoonable' (stevia mixed with chicory root) from a distributor in Canada. It only took about a week to get here and it's great. I don't know whether to bother with the stevia. I was thinking of healthy treats for christmas but i've been put off a bit by some of the posts about it recently. Personally sweet stuff doesn't bother me much anymore. I find all the christmas sweets, aisle upon aisle in the supermakets quite disgusting and can quite easily go past it all. It was more for the family in general so i don't go against what i believe and give sugar to family at christmas. I was thinking healthier cakes etc. I do use a bit of raw cane in bread. My husband said there was cheap vco on sale on ebay. When i checked it out it was gone. The labels were stained due to leakage but not the jars they were selling. £5.00 a pot. Worth looking regularly. Sally > I'm in the UK too. If you search for it on ebay you can find a few > suppliers. Guest guest
Thanks, I have tried stevia and do not like the aftertaste. In fact I don't like any of the artificial sweetners. I have also gone through periods in my life when I have eliminated sugar. But have always fallen off the wagon. I know there is no easy way to do this. Thanks for your advice. I have started the VCO again and will see what happens. Guest guest
: I have a real sweet tooth and LOVE Chocolate, BUT when I used ENOUGH VCO (like the full 3 to 4 Tbsp.daily) I didn't care if I had any or not.
