There's nothing wrong with a little sweetness in life. :) you need carbs to

live just not simple carbs. :)

Speaking as a diabetic, ALL carbs are harmful. That means honey as

well as sugar. If one is trying to cut back on carbs, it is better to

not feed one's sweet tooth at all instead of looking for sweet

substitutes.

There is NO minimum daily requirement for carbs.

Honey is a simple carb.

Sweetness is not good for those who need to limit dietary intake of

carbs. Sweetness stimulates craving for more carbs.

Some people have no problem with sweets. For others, it is an

addiction which is best rooted out, rather than pandered to.

The original poster was almost right. Most carbs are bad. The ones that are good

for all us and especially diabetics are the raw veggies. I'm not sure I

understand your statements. They seem to conflict. A little sweet is go. I'm

staying away from sugar, it's bad.

Try living with zero carbs. Even Atkins warns against it.

I also you use homemade applesauce in place of sugar also and Mayo in place of

eggs also. Depending on what I have in the house.

You do have to adjust the dry and wet ingredients though. I will change the

texture if you do not.

God bless enjoy experimenting. .

I second Alobar's statement that ALL carbs are harmful; the

notion that there's nothing wrong with a little sweetness in life

is only true I think for stevia, and somewhat applies to some

artificial sweeteners.

Sweetness from sugar, even the glucose/fructose in honey, leads

inevitably to glycation, or sugaring, of tissues and organs;

sugaring of tissues makes them useless and harmful.

Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) is the next step along

that path; AGEs cause accelerated aging. In diabetics this can be

up to 50 times the daily free radical damage than that healthy

non-diabetics encounter, but ALL people get it, and if you live

long enough that's what you'll die of after it accelerates your

aging for awhile.

Sobering thought, that every time you eat sugar or a

carbohydrate, even a complex carbohydrate, you are accelerating

the glycation process :(

The best carb advice lies somewhere along the lines of cave-man

diet; this is NOT a zero-carb diet because there are carbs in

nearly everything; it's not even a LOW carb diet because it

supplies adequate carbohydrate.

The diet is somewhat approximated by many candida patients and

diabetics who must control their glucose levels for other

reasons.

I would rather see people attend to their sweet tooth by treating

the glucose swings and mineral deficiencies that are most likely

the cause of their craving. The minerals you know about

supplementing; the glucose swings stop in about three weeks when

you stop eating carbs. The outcome is no sweet tooth and less

glycation.

This isn't really a health discussion list we're on here but we

do hit some of those topics and I thought you should know, if

only for the record. I hate to hold my tongue, pen, or keyboard

when I can materially help, even though health advice only sinks

in in about 5% of the general population and maybe 50% on the

health groups.
