Guest guest
Chris: Udo is HEAVY into Flaxseed Oil and on another List we've already have it explained to us, that Flax is not all that beneficial. We do love to delve into Coconut Oil though. Bonnie re; OT new to the board & cholesterol question Hi, I am new to this board (as of today), and am generally a lurker due to time constraints.I have not as yet had time to look through many of the posts, but I believe it is possible that some of you might be interested in the info on these links. Guest guest
what is about flax that is bad? i am fairly new to this board ... first it was apples are bad now it's flax. i'm not disparaging anybody but this all very surprising to me. as far as flax goes, i can tell you anecdotally what I believe it has done for me ... i have had several colonoscopies over the years always with benign polyps ... the last 2 colonoscopies were polyp free because, i believe, i was taking flaxseed consistently. additionally, the small fibroid on my pelvic ultrasound has disappeared. i wish i had been taking it when i was much younger ... i " think " (operative word in everything here) i could have averted breast cancer. > > Chris: > > Udo is HEAVY into Flaxseed Oil and on another List we've already have it explained to us, that Flax is not all that beneficial. > > We do love to delve into Coconut Oil though. > > Bonnie > re; OT new to the board & cholesterol question > > > Hi, > I am new to this board (as of today), and am generally a lurker due to time constraints.I have not as yet had time to look through many of the posts, but I believe it is possible that some of you might be interested in the info on these links. > Regards > Chris > http://udoerasmus.com/firstscreen.htm (info on various fats) > > http://www.thincs.org/ (skeptics re; cholesterol theory) > >
Guest guest
Hello: Duncan could explain the Flaxseed research better than I, so best to hear it from him, that's where I heard it. Guest guest
Hi, I too am new. I have a question. I have been taking krill oil for a couple weeks. I have not seen it mentioned. Should I switch to fish oil? thanks, Artielle
Guest guest
Artielle: Switch to fish oil?? I thought Krill Oil WAS fish oil. Guest guest
Bonnie, Krill is not fish, it's more like tiny shrimp or " sand fleas " you might see on a beach. Krill oil contains more EPA and DHA than fish oil. (gooogle " krill oil " to get more info) Artielle: grass-fed beef and fish oil contains adequate amounts of contains EPA and DHA. You don't have to use (expensive) Krill oil to get your dose up, and don't think you can rely on flax oil for it either. Duncan > > Artielle: > > Switch to fish oil?? Guest guest
Grass fed beef is a stronger EPA and DHA donor than corn-fed, yes. This also applies to the fat in milk/cream/cheese. Guest guest
No , grass fed beef have a higher Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio, instead of the other way around, where Omega 6 is highest. Guest guest
Hi I apologize for this OT post: Just a little reminder.. Beef are ruminant.. Ruminants do not naturally eat corn, they simply cannot digest it; yet, most beef in the USA are fed Corn. For the animal to process this food for which its body is not designed, other " stuff " must be added to this food, among these antibiotics.. regardless Beef ALL get sick from eating corn, it sits in their rumen and ferments, leading to acidosis and an enlarged rumen that will, if not treated with medication, swiftly kill the animals... Read this http://www.foodrevolution.org/grassfedbeef.htm To me that would be one argument toward eating grass-fed beef... , before the omega 6 to 3 ratio...I am a vegetarian by the way...
