Guest guest
In all actuality, eggs have never been documented as causing heart disease. They have been guilty by association. Eggs are high in cholesterol but it is highly unlikely that dietary cholesterol causes cholesterol build up in arteries. Without the help from glucagon, the body has a difficult time ridding itself of excess cholesterol.Cholesterol is primarily manufactured by the liver. Glucagon is a hormone that is produced in the pancreas only when insulin is stable.Glucagon's job is to send signals to the kidneys to release excess salts and fluids,to the liver to reduce production of cholesterol and triglycerides, to the arteries to relax and lower blood pressure, and to fat cells to release stored fat to be burned for energy ( lipolysis ). when insulin levels in the blood are spiked, then glucagon actions are suppressed. So it is the instability of insulin, not a diet of cholesterol laden foods, that causes heart disease.Hmm, I wonder what kind of diet it takes to stabilize insulin? This is why so many people have a very hard time of keeping their cholesterol under control even after monitoring their dietary cholesterol. They won't leave the sugar alone. > > Jackie: > > > > I haven't been following this thread but noticed your elation about eggs. I bet it isn't actually the eggs that's lowering your Cholesterol but that you are avoiding something else. > > > > Bonnie > >
