That wasn't a nice post....I don't know you, or the lady in question, but she

does have a right to do as she sees fit w/o people rubbing her nose in it. I

have to tell you I am on the board of the chapter that this lady attends, as

I have said I have yet to actually meet her...That said I have been E-mailed

at least 5 times by different people trying to find reasons to keep her from

attending the meetings based on those aforementioned photo's. Do you think

that it is right to try to keep her from LPA because of her profession? Or

to use her profession to seem to debase her very real concerns about the

circumstances of LP's in the acting profession? Anyway, I just thought that

your post seems to reiterate what I have previously stated in posts...if we

can't accept who all of us are as LP's what chance do we have showing the

world we are all really just the same as everyone else?

I am not saying that the Achon cmmunity is blocking anything , I have

nothing against achons at all, I have friends that are achons, BUT i

have noticed when ever you do see a media thing on LP'S it IS mostly

Achons, I don't think they are taking over, it just seems thats what

the agencies and the producers want to see. I feel as a LP and a

disabled person, that I am in limbo, you see I am an LP AND I am

disabled and use a wheelchair. I don't fit in the LP image b/c i am

in the chair and I am not an achon, I don't fit in the disabled image

to the media because I am not a para (parapalegic) Its like where the

hell do i belong? You see all sorts of commercials featuring disabled

ppl and the majority of them are 'abled bodeied' lookg ppl sitting

in chair or actual able-bodied ppl portrayed to appear as disabled.

You see a segment on LP's and what do u see? Achons, there needs to

be a diversity among BOTH LP and disabled in the media, I have seen

ONE OI in all of tv and movie history that actually had OI, on

different stokes show.

What it really takes to change this is for ppl who aredisable and/or

LP's that are agents and scouts, to have the desire to do whats

right, they have been in my shoes and know what its like to start out

and be discriminated against. Theres so many of us that have the

talent and are left behind simply because they dohn't fit the image

of what society considers what an LP or disabled looks like. Its the

same mindset as someone not wanting a black person on a bus or in a

restaurant, its discrimination.

I understand yer sentiment but I don't feel that it's the Achon

community that is blocking the other groups from being fairly

represented. Remember Lee had said that she was invited to be a

part of the program but she had to turn it down for reasons of her

own and I know that she is not Achon.

So, I dunno who's to blame here. Maybe Hollywood? They once excluded

or I should say preferred Hypo-pit's over the rest of us, including

Achons, before the Hypo-pits basically disappeared due to medical

advances in helping them grow. Now that the Achons have become the

new majority amongst lp's as a whole, no longer the Hypo-pits, they

may be chosen more often than the rest as they are more readily

available or prevalent. I dunno? I'd like to think that in as much as

I'd like to think that years ago Hollywood chose Hypo-pits because

they were more available than the rest of us at one time too, but

somehow I feel that probably wasn't the case. Why? I met a couple

Munchkins long ago and they did tell me that their managers did

prefer the Hypo-pits over the others as they more " cuter " or " child-

like " in their appearance.

Now this could be happening once again by Hollywood and if it is I

feel WE ALL must resist this, including the Achons of which I am one.

We must be vocal and express our feelings to the producers to fairly

represent us all in this matter, my opinion only.

Just an end note on the MTV show that featured a few of us. I felt

that Robyn was the best and truly cut to the heart of what we are all

about inwardly and amongst our average sized friends and she's not

Achon. My only one gripe towards the show would be that it had no

minority lp's represented other Rahki who I think is of East Indian

descent? However, this was not the fault on the guests that were

featured rather that lies with its producer(s).

luv, grady;)

ps-Those are good points you've brought up, Pretty Kitten and Kurt,

because when I look out upon LPA I do not " one " type. I see many

which make up the whole and I'm proud to be a piece of the whole

that's all of us:).

This has been my experience in some cases in the " entertainment " buz. I once

tried out to be a " chipmunk " for Universal Studios Alvin and the Chipmunk live

show. Spare me the

lecture from those people who dont believe in LPs doing those kinds of rolls...

get over it. Anyho... I noticed that the costumes that they already had were

basically made for an

achon type body and my DD fat ass and pudgey legs were certainly not going to

fit. That was 1 of my first realizations. I personally think....when some

casting people request

LPs... in their minds they think Achons. Since achons have more " distinctive

features " (need I spell it out ..cuz some get kinda wiggy about it {Just read

the Dwarf World book})

they look like a dwarf from any camera angle. If the LP doesnt have those

" features " it doesnt depict the image that the casting person is looking for.

Iam NOT trying to start an

achon vs other LPs rivalry by any means. Iam just letting you know what I have

nocticed.

As far as where do you belong? The key thing is.... make your OWN dent in the

world. Try not to let what other people do define who YOU are as a person. Its

frustrating I know...

man do I know...but its all about determination and perseverance. Things happen

for a reason. Life puts us thru tests and they can build us up or knock us down.

No sense in getting

pissed off about things beyond your control. I believe the entertainment world

is changing to " our " favor....its a step in the right direction to get ANY LPs

to be regulars in

primetime. Lets rejoice in that and let the viewing audience get use to it....

because they will be seeing alot more of us.. all different types in the

future.... hopefully near

future!!

Anyone know what the name of that Spike Lee movie that focused on segregation

within the Black community? Light skin blacks vs darker skin blacks

I think it has more to do with mobility and torso strength. Many Achons sans

back problems can carry the weight of costumes and move about easier.

I am sorry but I going to have to qualch the myth about Achons and the Media.

Please help with names and types, for I am terrible at spelling and names.

Barty - not an achon - CH

Curtis - not an achon - Pit

Jerry Maron - not an achon - Pit

Guy on Seinfeld - not an achon - SED or Sudo

Minnie Me - not an achon - another CH

Russel Gill - not an achon -

Lead in Willow now a major part in Harry Potter - not an achon - SED

There are many more, however I am not going to look any worst with my spelling

and memory of names.

As for the OI who claim to be the most successful LP drummer. The truth be told

the most successful LP drummer was Barty. As a young man he traveled

around the country playing drums with his family. He work professionally for

eight years with Spike and his band. His drum playing credits include

playing for O'Connor at the London Pallidum, and numerous others. As for

working with Clooney, I don't know, however he did work with and was very

good friends of his Aunt Rosemary and his father Nick.

The final fact is he had the first professional drum set ever made for an LP.
