I lost around 30 lbs since September. I guess I have to realize that most

people don't notice the gradual changes, they just see you one day and think

it happened all at once.

Jenni, please dont be down. It sounds like your co-workers are concerned

about you. They may or may not be right...but regardless thank for them for

their concern but tell them it doesnt help to be reminded of it constantly.

3x a week is not bad for maitenence. I dont know what your present weight is

and what your goal is so I cn't tell you about losing weight. I can tell you

though that lack of energy is most often caused by....lack of energy aka

calories. You body needs fuel and your mind does as well. Make sure you are

eating enough..and dont hesitate to eat more because you feel you may gain

weight. Not eating will cause you to gain the most weight in the future.

Seriously. I had a lot of problems with eating in high school and I'm

REALLY paying for it now with a SLOW metabolism that I have to workout

everyday to try to stay at a healthy weight.

Look in the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are. Find the

features that you are most proud of and ignore what you cannot change or what

will change eventually during your fitness journey. That beautiful person

deserves the best you can give an adequete diet and exercise program that

will give you a healthy weight...not super model slender and not forgivingly

pudgy.

If you feel like your PMSing and you just had your period...look at all the

stuff in your life. Have you taken on too much lately, are you worried about

something? Try to focus on game plan for how you will approach each day and

then be sure to set aside me time...some for Taebo and some to do something

just for yourself ..like read a magazine or paint...whatever. I think this

" me " time is almost as important as sleep and can really help you once you go

back to the rest of the day. It will help you take things in perspective and

take yourself into perspective.

Like I said. I'm not agreeing with your co-workers because I dont know where

you are at on your journey.....but this is advice I would anyone from 70lbs

to 400lb+. Take care of yourself first and the scale last.

How much weight have you lost? or inches? Some people just don't know when

to be quiet. If anyone else tells you that you should stop losing weight

you should just tell them that ou have set a goal for yourself and you have

not hit that goal yet, inthe meantime you are toning up and gaining

strength. Maybe you should suggest to them the Tae-Bo tapes..maybe they are

insucure about their own weight and when they someone losing weight they

feel jealous.

Don't give up!! It is yoru body and you know how you want it to look!

Jenni,

oooooohhhhhh, I can totally relate to this. I guess some people just

don't get it that people can lose weight healthily. Maybe they just

noticed it now and think you've lost all this weight in like the past

month or something. People have always commented on my weight loss

(although in my case, most of their worry was justified because of my

eating disorders). However, when I finally got it right and was losing

weight the healthy way, I still felt like I was under a microscope and

that everything I put into my mouth was being analyzed. Which

eventually caused me to sneak stuff and go on binges....ugghhhh! It's

a lot better now because they see me get up everyday and do tae-bo and

basically eat whatever I want. I guess what you have to realize is

that people are just worried (even though that worry is not warranted

and they have no idea what they are talking about). Maybe the next

time they make a comment about how you arent' eating...you could just

say something like " actually, I'm just making really healthy decisions

about what I'm eating and I exercise with the tae-bo tapes, have you

heard of them? " or something to that effect. I wouldn't even bother

yourself with trying to eat in front of them...believe me, you'll do

more harm to yourself. Just ignore them (easier said than done), but

you know that you are not starving yourself and you know what your

eventual goal is. Just keep doing what you are doing and when people

ask tell them it's tae-bo :)

I followed the WW plan for awhile and when I was doing that I would eat

within my points range, but I still always made sure that I had my

" snack " food and I didn't deprive myself of anything that I wanted.

When I started doing tae-bo, I noticed that I was more hungry, so I ate

over my points range by a few points and still continued to lose

weight. Now, I just eat when I am hungry and try to make smart

choices. I still have to have something sweet every day, so I allow

myself certain things that I really enjoy. I don't count calories

anymore, but I pretty much know that I probably eat around 2,000

calories a day. I weigh right around 150 lbs. and that is my goal

weight. I'd like to lose about 5 more lbs, but I'm not stressing about

it. If it happens, it happens....but, I'm not going to kill myself

trying to lose those last 5 lbs :)

My sister so messed up her kids always being very self-conscious of her

weight. The man she married was unattractively overweight before and thru-out

their marriage. Whenever you dine with them, all she does is make comments

about what he is eating. My oldest niece had bulimia and still looks too thin

at almost 30. My nephew developed a thyroid problem and is very overweight.

My youngest niece (20) is just a wreck (overweight, depressed, etc). My

sister bought TB for my niece but she did it for a week or two then quit. I

know my niece is a closet binge eater and believe if my sister had let her

have her snacks whe younger without nagging, perhaps, she would have a better

actual weight would make lots of people think I have something to hide. Not

true at all... I just don't talk about it. I could probably count on one

lifetime. That, I admit IS a problem but it's pretty harmless. I haven't

been on the scale in weeks. You are right, I am stressing, I have a lot

going on in my head right now ... that's usually when I openly talk about

things that bother me. To be honest with you, if there indeed was a problem

I would never have mentioned it here... not openly and publicly because I

would have had that fear that " everyone " may figure it out. Maybe I would

have " picked " someone to email personally, I am such a private person

sometimes but I am working on trusting people more. Again, thanks for your

thoughts. Your message holds a lot of truth and I sincerely appreciate you

taking the time to worry. :)

If you know you're taking good care of yourself and working hard thats all

that matters. I know it can be a pain if people don't see that, but they are

either misinformed or a little jealous of your success. I know how it feels

to be criticized when doing good things for yourself. Sometimes my younger

brother, who knows everything by the way, stops by my sisters when we're

doing Taebo and makes fun of us every time. It aggravates me at first, then

I just laugh it off, or I tell him to stand by me when I kick to see if its

working or not. Point being, try to brush off what others say, even when

its not so easy to do.

Hi,

Good point. I felt exactly the same 5 weeks ago. I still don't know

why it is not featured in every health magazine going. I don't buy

mags but i flick through in the shop and have never seen it.

I think the answer is the anti saturated fat message is so ingrained

into our psyche.

People are scared of it. It's fat afterall. I suppose magazines that

have been promoting low fat this and low fat that can't suddenly

advocate eating saturated fat. If so called experts have said no

don't eat it i don't think they would dare promote it.

Giant corporations are being the low fat business. They don't want

fat to become excepted by our society. They will use every trick in

the book to discredit vco. Apparently there was a documentary on

telly and i think it was in the newspapers using coconut oil and

polyunsaturated oil in an experiment. And guess what came of worse.

If you look through past posts you will find details of this

experiment and the answers that Bruce Fife gave.

On a personal note i have lost several pounds, it is helping my

thyroid as it improves my temperature so my metabolism is up. I have

more energy. My instinct tells me it's good and i'm very intuitive.

Have you read all the books and read articles on the web?

Thanks for the thorough reply Sally. I have been reading a lot on the

web, not in books yet, but I am considering going to the library to

read more on the subject. Everything I have found on the web is

psitive and I even tied to look up negative things on purpose like VCO

and harmful, I got nothing negative! I often do research online and

there is always the contradictory side to things, but not this and

that is why it seemed too good to be true, too many positives. It

helps SO many things and every single human being should be using it!

I've even seen websites that promote using it for pets!!

Unbelievable! I guess I am just shocked to find that something like

this exists and is so easy to consume (even yuumy!!) and the world

hasn't gobbled it up!!

, just try to do your cooking in VCO or take 1 tbs after meals, it has

such a satiating effect on our body that we don't feel hungry for a long time.

If the big corporations start to fry their food in saturated fats then people

won't eat more food and specially the junk like potato fries and chips. To give

you an example, we don't even need so much of vitamin C in our body, except for

people with a need of high anti-oxidants, because it is recycled. Today it is

added as preservative to most of the drinks and juices. Excess vitamin C drains

our body of essential minerals and we tend to drink more of those junk drinks.

The cycle does on we consume more and more food than actually required by our

body. saturated fats helps to absorb minerals as well. so much more to it.......

Sally,

I just want to take it for general health, because of all the things

it appears to help prevent. We eat very healthy and try to do the

best we can to boost our immune systems. Also, I've been wondering

about having my thyroid levels tested, because I am tired a lot, and

although I am not gaining necessarily, I feel a little bloated at

times. I am very thin, so weight loss is not it, just a well balanced

lifestyle. The energy bit has me VERY interested too.

Im losing weight without dieting - so how much proof does one need

I so wish I knew how others do this! I use it but this has not been my

experience with losing weight :-( .....I even feel a bit like I am gaining a

few

lbs here and there....which is not helpful..since I lost 35 lbs...in the

spring and need to lose another 20 at least...probably 25 by now with the vco!!

I

have not felt the amazing energy boost either but do think I feel a bit better

but do not know if it is the vco...or the flax seed! Beth

What do you mean by infrequently. I use it for everything. I cook with it

Fry with it, Add it to my kefir smoothies, Rub in on my face and skin where

its dry. I eat it by the spoonful, rub it in my hair after a shampoo. I use

it instead of butter on toast and other things. AND I put it in my herbal

medicines when an oil

is indicated. I also make soap from it. Do I believe in the benefits of

coconut oil - You betcha and have not begun to explore all the possibilities

for its use. Can I prove it has been beneficial, not really, but I don't

care, I feel better since using it, my skin and hair look better, and Im

losing weight without dieting - so how much proof does one need?

I'm sorry to hear you are not getting the results you hoped for

taking vco. Maybe you need to look at other reasons you're not

losing the weight. I was going to say hormonal imbalance but vco is

supposed to help balance hormones, but maybe not enough. Has

someone already suggested progesterone cream to you? I can't

remember all your past posts. I would suggest you get checked out

for everything. Allergies, hormones, etc.
