Guest guest
is there a weight limit or jump height do you have to jump off the matt? I figure it'll be awhile before my husband can use it but I am honest;y worried about height more than weight. I am 5'10 and my husband 6'4. but I am close to 200 and hubby is a LOT more than that. I would LOVE to get a rebounder but just afraid there's no safe place to put it with 8' ceilings. I have seen the ones on tv but does sports authority carry anything like it? Guest guest
I would say go cheap and work up to expensive depending on your budget. iw ouldn't want to really invest and then find out it's a good place to put clothes if you know what I mean. Guest guest
You go up a few inches from the rebounder, that is all. You can put more space between your feet and the rebounder if you tuck your feet under when you jump up, but it won't bring you closer to the ceiling. This is what the website said for the Urban rebounder Now you can do Urban Rebounding in your home. *In just 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week*, the Urban Rebounding Workout melts pounds of fat away, without any pain or stress on your joints. And it's so much fun it's the first exercise you'll actually look forward to! It also improves your balance and coordination, which is good news for athletes and seniors. Urban Rebounding is also safe. In proper form, your feet barely leave the surface. You don't jump high, you jump strong. And First Timers can use the Training Bar until they get the hang of it, like training wheels on a bicycle. Urban Rebounding was created by J.B. Berns, a practicing martial artist for over 20 years, whom Fitness Magazine <http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/>called one of the top personal trainers in the country. The Urban Rebounding Workout has it's lineage in martial arts and core abdominal postures, resulting in a non-stop abdominal workout that melts away the fat and inches, strengthens your core and improves your balance and coordination like no other exercise! *N.A.S.A.* has been using rebounding to train their astronauts for years. A N.A.S.A study called rebounding a " *miracle exercise* " . N.A.S.A. found that rebounding was 68% more efficient than treadmills or other forms of exercise. N.A.S.A. also found rebounding to be helpful in rebuilding the bone mass and muscle mass that astronauts lose in the weightlessness of space. The Cornell Hospital for Special Surgery found in their study on Urban Rebounding that participants who used the Urban Rebounding Program for 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week for one month showed nearly a 70% improvement in balance and coordination. That's going to help prevent injuries! The Urban Rebounder is specifically designed for Urban Rebounding Workouts. The mini trampolines found in mass merchandise stores are not built to hold up under the rigors of rebound exercise, and they may not be safe. *The Urban Rebounder can hold a 90-pound dancer or a 300-pound football player*. It is made of high yield steel. Its jumbo tapered springs and steel pins are strong enough to absorb all the shock that your body would otherwise be subjected to on a hard, unforgiving surface. And its 1000-stitch surface is soft enough to bounce an egg, yet rugged enough to last a lifetime. No mini trampoline measures up. So you should have no problems with your husband using it. The DVD keeps stressing that it's not a trampoline. bounce as though the ceiling was just above your head. Hope this helps Kirsteen -- > Chaos, confusion, disorder - my work here is done
Guest guest
The one at Sports Authority is the one from the TV. You don't actually jump very high. I have low ceilings, too. The Urban Rebounder weight limit is either 300 or 350 lbs. Nothing to be afraid of. I just purchased the " Platinum Collection " of rebounder DVDs. It is amazing the amount of working out you can do, safely, on a rebounder that doesn't even involve jumping. Beverle

" I have heard that the really cheap ones - with straps instead of springs - can hurt your knees. I don't think $100 is either cheap or expensive. Especially for something that has so much benefit. You can even sit in a chair with your feet on the rebounder and have someone else bounce and you will benefit. Beverle

Guest guest
Stuck I am 5'11 " and weigh 220# . I have an old Original " REBOUNDER " . That's where the generic name came from. It has 8' legs and I have 8' ceilings. I have really bounced hard and I have not hit my head yet. At first I was a little concerned about it, too. However I have to make sure I stay away from the chandelier and the ceiling fan. LOL. Guest guest
Thanks I saw a rebounder today but it was 60 bucks. so Christmas is coming we'll see. Stuck RE: Rebounder Hi All, Thanks for all your input about the Rebounder. I ran across one called " Cellerciser " . He claims that it is the " best " and that you can do harm to your body by using the less expensive rebounders. And believe me, his is EXPENSIVE! He says that the difference is in the type of springs used. I cannot afford to do harm to myself--so, do I opt for the expensive or take a chance by buying something more reasonably priced. I would appreciate your input. I am learning so much from all of you. Many thanks.
