Guest guest
I no longer eat tofu after all the information I've read about it's negative affects. Why though, is fermented soy okay? Why is miso and tempeh considered benign? _________________________________________________________________ From photos to predictions, The MSN Entertainment Guide to Golden Globes has it all. http://tv.msn.com/tv/globes2007/
Guest guest
If you have thyroid problems, then why put yourself in any danger at all ? I rarely touch soy and when I do its fermented soya sauce. The amount of problems with this stuff is not worth the risk...
Guest guest
So okay, why aren't all the orientals suffering from thyroid problems? Just wondering if they are consumming it differently. We are lucky enough to have a family business here in Houston that produces orgainic soymilk and tofu. Ber Jovelle Baker <tojovelle@...> wrote: I agree, and even if you don't have thyroid problems, studies seem to show that you eventually will, given a high soy diet. The rampant hypothyroid cases seem to be growing by the day just as is the popularity of soy foods. Guest guest
Up until quite recently, orientals ate mainly fermented soy plus small amounts of tofu (unfermented) in soups. Guest guest
Okay, so what your talking about is the soymilks and the tofus, correct? Not soy sauce and ...what other fermented are there, perhaps miso. I love miso soup. Guest guest
Miso is fermented. Tofu is not. I do not feel that small amounts of tofu are harmful, but I sure would not eat a pound in a month. Soymilk is not fermented either. A glass a month propbably won't do that much harm, but I sure would not use soymilk as a daily beverage. Guest guest
Yeah, a doctor told me he has seen women as young as 30 years old starting menopause. He says to stay away from soy and conventional fruits and vegetables. Only eat the organic foods because of the xenoestrogens in pesticides along with the other poisons. He said you are just eating a low dose of poisons. Guest guest
Okay so why? I drink it regularly and eat tofu probably 2x a week. Ber Alobar <Alobar@...> wrote: Miso is fermented. Guest guest
See these links for starters. The do a google seach for more. Dr. Weil disagrees that unfermented soy is harmful. But I tend to disagree with Weil on a lot of things, so that does not surprise me. http://www.zenzibar.com/Articles/issoysafe.asp http://www.mercola.com/2004/aug/4/fermented_soy.htm http://www.mercola.com/2004/dec/4/soy_truth.htm http://thyroid.about.com/od/bookssupportresources/a/barbeeinterview_2.htm http://www.drlam.com/opinion/soyandestrogen.cfm Alobar On 1/4/07, Wings <wings2fly8@...> wrote: > Okay so why? Guest guest
I would not drink soy milk anymore and only the fermented soy in small amounts. Drinking whole raw milk is best. Dr. Kaayla is a soy expert you can read the link below. http://www.mercola.com/2005/mar/23/soy.htm > > Okay, so what your talking about is the soymilks and the tofus, correct?
