Guest guest
~~~~~I live in the East Texas Piney Woods. We have fleas and mosquitoes, so to protect my dogs I give them 'heart worm' pills every month. Not too long ago one of my dogs had white live worms, which looked like white pins with a small head on them. I wanted the Vet to check the specimen I collected, but he just gave me a pill for tape worms. He said that since the dogs were taking heart worm pills, which kills all worms except tape worms, that's what it had to be. He gave me one pill which the dog took with a little food. No more worms since then. The Vet said dogs get tape worms when they eat a flea (I assume from 'getting after' a flea when it's biting them). Although I do give the dogs 'Advantix', fleas still get on the dog and die after they ingest the dog's blood. Sounds 'gory', but that's life in real time. Coconut oil might help the dog expel the worms, but I don't know if it will also kill them. Good luck. Guest guest
Ellen, Coconut oil doesn’t generally kill intestinal worms but it can help expel them. Coconut meat has also been used for this purpose and is a folk remedy in India for tapeworms. There is some research that verifies this. You can use coconut oil and meat to aid in expelling the worms but to kill them you may also need to use herbs or medications. Bruce Coconut Oil to deworm dogs...Dr. Fife please help Hi Dr. Fife or anyone else that can help me, I've been giving my two shelties about 1/2 to 3/4 tblspoon of coconut oil everyday for about 2 months now. This morning when I was picking up their stools I noticed some wiggly worms in one. They were checked for worms and such about 6 months ago and were clean. Anyway, I have two of your books: The coconut oil miracle and Coconut Cures. I remember reading in your books about tapeworms and parasites and I was wondering what would you recommend I do for my dogs. If I give them a little too much coconut oil, then they get loose, but maybe that's what I need to do to help them clear worms. I don't know if the coconut oil has already expelled all of them or if I need to do something more for them. The one shelie I know had the worms in his stool weighs about 331bs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Ellen
Guest guest
Hi Janet, Thanks so much for your response. I will definitely deworm them if I have to, but I was hoping to avoid giving them those deworming pills. Instead, I was hoping something holistic would do the trick, but if I can't find any answers then I will definitely have their stools tested and get them dewormed. Thanks again for your help!
