hi,

to improve the smell of VCO for skin and hair application, i add a

few drops of lavender oil (you can use any other oils used for

aromatherapy, depending on your personal taste/likes).

Hi ,

You might want to try Nature's Blessings Organic VCO. It has a mild scent

of fresh coconut and tastes great too. This brand of VCO is easily

absorbed by the skin and hair, and leaves a very mild coconut scent (not

the smelly type).

Nature's Blessings also offer Scented VCO like citrus, lavender, rose and

other tropical floral scents like jasmine etc. The scents are organic too!

(It's safe to take internally)

I guess you'll like using it on your hair. My friend who's a bank manager

applies the citrus VCO of Nature's Blessings on his hair and skin before he

goes to work, and suprisingly the citrus scent lingers until after office

hours.

I've tried a sample of the citrus scented Nature's Blessings - I

wonder what it tastes like but it's really meant to be used as a

massage oil on skin or applied on hair. Smells fresh and lemony.

Always wondered what benefit the scent would give but I guess there

are some people who would find coconut smell offensive (personally I

find it rather pleasant - but you can't please everyone).

Funny there are commercial hair care products made in the US that use

coconut as a base (I'm looking at one Suave Shampoo bottle right now)

and they make no attempt to disguise the coconut smell so I was

wondering what the big deal was.

is right, just use expeller pressed for the hair. VCO would be wasted if

you use it for the hair. That should be ingested or used for cooking.

There are different types of essential oils, some are edible and some are not --

even if they are organically grown, depending on the stabilizer (preservative)

used. All essential oils from flowers, leaves, etc. need stabilizers after its

scent is extracted from the plant. These stabilizers vary from being edible to

being cancerous. One has to be very careful and one better find out what is

the stabilizer used before ingesting the essential oil or using it in perfumery

and other products that would touch the skin.
