Guest guest
I have been reading what has been said about the newletter and it's reasons for the cost of dues to go up. This doesn't make me happy in any way, to know that some one who writes a newsletter (that I have yet to get) can give themselves a raise. $40,000 is ALOT of change for one person who only sends out a few newsletters, doesn't have the spine to put a story written by a gay member (leaves it on the shelf for two years and hands it over to a real editor!) . All I ever see in the newsletters is the SAME POPULAR people, story's written about them, intro's of the Onelist(?), and a whole bunch of other nonsence! There needs to be story's about REAL LP'S ------ THE AVERAGE MAJORITY------NOT THE SAME PEOPLE OVER AND OVER! Put story's from doctors about RARE dwarfisms. Put story's about how to cope with EVERY DAY life. There are alot of things that could be written about, other than who is most popular. YES, Rick did get ALOT of ANGERY comments from LP's after he ran Laurie's story, but he was a real editor, he put it in, because she represents part of LPA and we ALL need to see it. I don't mean to pick on you Laurie, There are other poplems in LPA. Like RACISM!!!!!!!!! It make's me Sick! We are ALL dwarfs, have a heart. You should know how it feels to be left out because of your height, think how a person of another race ,ethinc back ground ,or even dare I say DWARFISM feels when you leave them out. I know how it feels, I have a RARE dwarfism and to top it all off---TADA MY MOM IS GAY AND I WAS RAISED BY HER! I love my mother very much and for ALL of those people who think " IT " S HOW YOU ARE RAISED " , guess what ?????? I am 100% Straight, BUT I have a heart and know that every one isn't the same. I tell you this, because I know it's why other LP's have cut me out of friendships. They stand there and assume that I am gay too. So what if I were? I am human and a dwarf. Two things we already have in common. People don't take the time to get to know each other in this world and that shouldn't be that whay in LPA. Get to know each other. Leave your " click " for a day and make a new LP friend. Maybe someone of a different race, sex or even dwarfism. I am here to tell you, you may find a friend for life and you will have changed that persons day for the better. I write all of this here, because I know that it would never be put in the news letter. That is how things are in LPA right now. I also see a lot of angery people who need to calm down. Or just get a life. We should be helping eachother, not tearing eachother apart. Be kind to yourselfand each other. Thank you for taking time to read this, ps. Rick, thanks for the time you gave us as editor! You were a breath of fresh air. )
Guest guest
Let's AT LEAST keep the facts straight. Of the $40,000 being spent on LPA Today, $30,000 is for production, printing, and postage, and $10,000 is for the editor's compensation.
