I will stay awake all night tonight and see if I can catch myself

snoring. I will post the results tomorrow.

I think it's more of a fact that 'MEN' snore... period!

Short-tall-thin-wide-dark-light...it's hidden in the testosterone!!!

I'm only being silly ofcourse... I am just convinced that ALL men snore..

well atleast all the ones I've ever seen sleeping. (ummmm *NOTE* 'SEEN'

sleeping)... don't y'all get the wrong impression now.

Dear Shari,

If you are in with the raw food group, you will understand that heating above

about 118 degrees and/or too low a ph (acid level) will both harm or kill your

grains or the beneficial parts of the kefir you made from them.

In order to benefit from any raw food, it must be consumed while still raw.

couple of questions and have not received an answer. I'm sorry if I'm asking

something that has been answered many times, but I'm having a lot of trouble

searching the archives and Dom's site just overwhelms me to no end!

>

kefir? Meaning, additives such as lemon, ginger, etc... What about heating? I

don't plan on heating my kefir, but I'm curious, what would lessen the benefits

once the grains are removed in preparation for consumption.

digging for my answers. I know it gets annoying with new folks. I'm on a raw

food group discussion and we get asked the same questions over and over and over

again and it does become tedious.

why is it not recommended to use Hershey & #39;s Chocolate Syrup.....i use the

unsweetened kind with stevia.   and  also use the strawberry syrup

(unsweetened)   What else could i use so that it is not so hard to drink

it.  Not all people love the flavor but need the benefits.     RUDEE

Sorry you & #39;ve not received any answers sooner. But, what makes you

think that adding ingredients after grains are removed & quot;ruins & quot; it? It

particular & quot;blend & quot; of tastes! (E.g., tuna and marshmallows

the 2nd & quot;ferment & quot; after grains are removed, should only enhance the

those benefits may be & quot;extrapolated & quot; since the ferment may actually

draw

out more as extract and/or the benefit of predigestion and conversion of

Call me crazy, but last night I laced my milk kefir with Hershey & #39;s Chocolate

syrup (not recommended), and this afternoon I mixed the rest of the batch with

some dried onion soup to make dip. Except that it was too strong (not enough

kefir?) it & #39;s future use as a condiment is promising. Cooked French cut

string beans with a salty kefir sauce. I just bought some fresh miso and anchovy

paste. What if I....

Felix....

First of all...... I have been enjoying smoothies with bananas, strawberries

and sometimes kiwi (all together!). By freezing the fruit it makes the

smoothie almost like a milk shake. I raise Nubian dairy goats and use there

milk. Strawberries are GREAT. I have yet to sweeten the smoothies, but if I

do, I'll be using RAW honey (I know it is RAW cause I know the bee

keeper........ (article regarding me and bee can be found at:

http://www.wcmessenger.com/2011/news/storm-damage-busies-beekeeper/

).

And, Felix...... Just how hot is it? The other day we hit 106. Today was a

lott cooler...... 99. I have no A/C. <G> Around here, it is so hot that the

cats are jumping into the water and so dry that the trees are bribing the

dogs to come and relieve themselves...... <GGGGGGGGGGG>

The locals call it 95/95 weather, very high humidity, but the real difference is

due to the wild yeast in the area according to the seasons. They protect their

own swampy turf here in subtle ways. It's tediously difficult for some

incautious opportunists to enter the ancient microbial breeding grounds of these

un-ta-me-able yeasties without running the risk of going bonkers from the shock

and awe of watching themselves suddenly saying, what only the yeasties can see,

with aplomb.

My first smoothie was a huge success. Instead of strawberries I used fresh

blueberries. I guess the berry juice was enough to make it separate into curds

and whey even in the refrigerator. I stirred it together, added a packet of

Splenda for fake sweetness, and it was delicious.

My milk kefir must have still been loaded with baby grains even after I removed

the golf ball sized mother culture from the jar. I like that it kept fermenting

with the blueberries mixed in very much.

I probably should have put a sealed lid on it when I took it from the blender.

Instead I put a paper towel over it so it might attract some exotic wild yeast

to miraculously cure what ails me. I never thought about there being wild yeast

before. Earth is a crazy space port.
