Guest guest
I have been reading people's posts about how expensive convention is and every year I go I think of more ways to cut down for the next. Here are some tips that I use to cut down on cost... 1. Try to have 3 to 4 roommates, it helps biiig time (confession my first convention we had 6 roommates at one point) but hey all your in the room for is sleeping and getting ready. 2. Use those sites like orbitz, etc.. for airlines and shop around! 3. Bring little boxes of cereal or granola bars with you 4. If can't fit food in the luggage find the nearest Walmart and buy non-perishable food to keep in your room. Trust me it cuts waaay down on restaurant bills. 5. For those of us over 21 make a run to the liquor store when your there and stock up on your goodies cause ya know how expensive drinks are sometimes. 6. Maybe time for a road trip? Ofcourse if ya live in cali it will take a looonggg time to get to Boston but maybe if your closer you can get a group of girls or the buddies and road trip it. Great bonding time and nooo airline costs. 7. Register early because it is usually cheaper if you do it right away. 8. If you can't stay for 7 days then why not come for 5 or 4? Now if you ate out twice a day for 7 days add up that cost and then at the dance if you bought um 3 drinks a night at what are they 5.00 each for 7 days then deduct that by half you can see right there how much you'd be saving. Ofcourse even with this some still need to save a year ahead of time, just a little bit everymonth but totally well worth it! If anyone else has little hints or tips please share!
