Guest guest
My warmth and happiness goes out to everyone on the list and I give you my love for the new year and send good wishes for all ! It is wonderful to think we have entered into a part of history that our grandparents or great grandparents once did. So much has changed in the past 100 years, and to think there were no computers, no light but the candle to read by, no electricity or heat but the warmth of a fire, no gas to put in the cars that did not exist, and we either walked or rode our best horses to the nearest town. In town, we would make the small purchases that our small money bags would allow us, and burlap sacks were in place of the paper or plastic. To buy a dress or a hat took a week, or a months savings, and it made it much easier to put priorities in their place. The air was much cleaner, and wires did not hang everywhere to make it difficult to take a picture, IF the black box was even there to take the picture. I have a great love for the antiques. I spend hours in antique shops, and can seldom resist a purchase of a memory as it stares at me and begs to be mine. How I wish I could step back one century and met my ancestors and the world in the way it was then. Instead, picture books and stores tell the story of years gone by. Wishing you ALL the very happiest of a new year and a new century, and may you feel happiness our family shares !
