He too was a reconstructive hand surgeon...famous for what he was able to do with hands. Thought mine should be " normal " (I'm DD too) and had some great ideas. At age 10 I had already adapted to the way my fingers are, but bless my parents who only wanted the best for me, the surgery happened on my right hand. Bottom line is, it did nothing and I had 6-12 months of excrutiating pain. I don't think I'm any worse for ware now at 44, but upon reflection it really irks me that some physicians feel like they have to make us " like every one else " .
