Guest guest
We have gone from 108 to 94 in the last two weeks. Our low tonight is at 60. Some low.:-) We are in the Reno/Tahoe area. We had some thunder storms that were better than the fireworks show on the Fourth of July! :-) Not much rain but a lot of light. The sky was beautiful and it seems that all week we will see the same. It is like a painting in the evenings; it draws us all out on to the lawn to view the sky. Willow << Here in Northeast Indiana. Tomorrow it is supposed to be Hotter. Plus we have not had any rain to speak of. How is it where you are from ? >>
Guest guest
Here in land it has been unbearably hazy, hot and humid. It hasn't rained here for about a month. The grass is dry and yellow and looking like straw. We need a good soaking rain not a quick thunderstorm. I pray for someone to do a rain dance. lol Helen (hoping that raindrops will soon be falling on her head). ;-)
Guest guest
Spare a thought for those of us " down-under " . It is the middle of winter here! Guest guest
Helen one word of advice. Be very specific on the amount you want it to rain! A few years ago my daughter lived in Salinas CA where they were experiences the worst drought in history. Many churches got together and prayed earnestly for rain. And rain it did... And flood it did. The more I hear about or experience weather from other parts of the USA I am more and more sure that the weather in the Pacific North West, (Western Washington and Oregon to be exact) are blessed with the very best. We normally only get close to 90 a couple of times a summer and even those rare times it cools enough at night to sleep comfortably. Today for example it is 83 and it was 52 last night. It does rain but that is what gives us the wonderful green trees and lawns and flowers. There is usually a breeze which helps keep cool too. Yes it rains in the winter but it is easer to drive on rain than on ice and snow. Yes it rains in the spring, fall and summer too, but we have compensated by growing webs between our toes! Sure I can see a volcano from my home but the ash from that volcano make the soil rich with nutrients. We are close to the beaches and rainforests and by traveling East over one of the many passes we can experience the blistery heat of other parts of the country. Perhaps I have given out far too much information. We usually tell people from outside the state that is POURS all the time to keep them from moving here to Washington State. Visit, leave your dollars but don't move here! Re: Re: It was Hot Today!!! Here in land it has been unbearably hazy, hot and humid. It hasn't rained here for about a month. Guest guest
Hi Katy, I will take cold over heat any day! You can always put on more clothes but one IS limited (or in my case, should be) in how much clothing you can remove. I am also thinking of tender spots which would get sun-burned if we took off too many! OUCHIES! RE: Re: It was Hot Today!!! Spare a thought for those of us " down-under " . Guest guest
I'm just hoping we get a good amount of soaking rain not torrential just a few days of a good, steady rain. The weatherman on a D.C. station said from land down to Georgia needed it. Helen
