Guest guest
I too was put in the situation of weather to keep my unborn baby or not. At 34 weeks along a specialist told my husband and I our unborn daughter had Thanatophoric Dysplasia a fatal form of Dwarfism and our baby might only live a few minutes after birth. He made this diagnosis from what he saw on the Ultasound. We were devistated. He gave us two options, deliver the baby and watch her die or go to Kansas for a late term abortion. I will be honest I checked into it to find out what it was all about, because my husband didn't know if he could handle seeing his baby girl die in our arms. But it most certainly was not the right thing to do for us. It was cruel and heartless and I could not live with myself if I had done it. We went for second and thirds opinions and they both concluded the first doctor was WRONG! Our baby had Achondroplasia. We did alot of research on the condition and were thrilled that our baby would live, little or not. We now have the most beautiful, happy, healty 7 month old girl. Whom I thank God for each and every day. She does not have Achondroplasia, DNA testing of the FGFR3 gene was negative. She still has some form of Dwarfisms, doctors now think Hypochondroplasia. All we know is that she is a BEAUTIFUL BABY, who makes each moment in our lives special. from NJ
Guest guest
in NJ I'm so glad to hear your baby is fine. You made the right choice then. Isn't this woman wanting an abortion because of (not health) but because it's a dwarf baby? To me, thats wrong,I gave my baby up because I was a single mom and already had a baby, my kids are 14 months apart, but my baby was not a dwarf, he was average height, both kids were healthy, both average height. I've always wanted a dwarf baby, but never got one. Someday I would like to adopt one.
