Guest guest
I absolutely remember that silly whole thing. What seemed like so many people got upset that anyone would dare trade recipes on the list serve. In reality it was only a vocal few. That's why I bring up recipes from time to time, because it was so ludicrous. Their argument was that it didn't have anything to do with dwarfism. Even if it didn't, so what? The fact is it dealt with diet and very basic food preparation problems that are quite germane to dwarfism. If my wife were to do the cooking she would have to climb up and down and work three time as had as I do to prepare a meal. Any suggestions that help a person of small stature prepare food in a manner that saves time and effort, I think, is one of the things this list was made for. Guest guest
Should I repost my recipe for an easy LP pot roast dinner? :-) Also have a taco salad (no beans, yuk), chicken enchilada pie, steak chilli laredo, easy LP italian roasted chicken (no tomatos), ...oooohhh the power of LP recipies...hahahahahaha. Karin (who made sure her post was LP oriented). Guest guest
Better idea: Put 'em on a website and post the link. If they're EASY, FAST, and don't require a lot of standing while fixing, they'd be ideal for a lot of lp's, even us non-cooking males<g>. I'd make up a month's supply and freeze 'em to heat up once a week. Guest guest
That is a great idea. You can create that website...Just kidding. ) I eat more microwave dinners, because I'm single...I hate eating alone, and I get tired from cooking. I think a website for easy and fast recipes is a great idea... In fact, I have a recipe book that is called " four Ingredients " a > Better idea: Put 'em on a website and post the link. > If they're EASY, FAST, and don't require a lot of > standing while fixing, they'd be ideal for a lot of > lp's, even us non-cooking males<g>. Guest guest
Yes I like the idea of easy and nutritious meals to prepare that don't require a lot of standing. I can only stand with the full aid of my walker anyway and right now I have difficulty doing that even. Living on Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine gets rather blah after a while..plus it's not the most economical way to eat and sometimes not 100% healthy, because of all the added preservatives they pack into those things. I am also somewhat embarrassed to say how many pizza boxes I've had the pleasure of disposing of, since I started school almost 2 years ago now. Thanks for the idea Jon. I 'am' serious btw... This coming week is Spring break for all of us students here in Texas...so Happy Spring Break to ya'll! Guest guest
Karin, Hi it's Butch. If some of the people out there remember right, a couple of us came up with the idea of having a LP COOK BOOK, or having a web site just for recipes. There was a FEW POSITIVE statements, but boy did everyone else come down hard on " WHY SHOULD WE HAVE SOMETHING LIKE A RECIPE WEB SITE and HOW MUCH TROUBLE IT WOULD BE. Someone even CHEWED ME OUT for suggesting that. So if someone out there wants to try to put something together, GO FOR IT and I would be glad to submit a recipe. That's MY TWO CENTS WORTH. Guest guest
Instead of a separate website, how about a section of " lpaonline " for recipes? Unless someone thinks a cookbook WOULD be a viable fundraiser. Just turning ideas over in my head. J --- Butch C Carlisle <Butchcs@...> wrote: > Karin, > > Hi it's Butch.
