Guest guest
You might use the " L " word on the dealerships....or you might talk to one (lawyer). Guest guest
Thanks, everyone. I wrote down that phone number and might give that a try. I also made contact with a representative from ADA, US Dept. of Justice, who said he would look into it. I didn't mention that particular " L " word, Karin, but I mentioned the other- lawsuit. And I do know a couple of people who are mechanically inclined, but I don't know how much experience they have had with new cars.... Again, thanks! It also reminds me that I have to do something to make my next car safe. I'm very fearful for my wife and myself when I think about the possibility of exploding air bags. I have always sat close to the steering wheel and my wife sits low in the passenger seat. It's ridiculus to think we would have to put our lives in danger when this can easily be remedied. I would also like to know what frequent LP travelers do when they need a rental car. I rented a late model Toyota Camry recently. My wife sat in the back during our relatives visit, but I was still nervous about my own safety. Sometimes we must also rent during extended car maintenance. Responses appreciated. Guest guest
Check out http://www.lpaonline.org/resources_faq.html for information from the National Highway & Transportation Administration about airbags. ---------- >From: Ningerbil@... >dwarfismonelist >Subject: Problems getting on/off switch for airbag >Date: Mon, Oct 4, 1999, 10:11 PM > > From: Ningerbil@... > > My sincerest apologies if this has been addressed recently, but I'm brand new > to this list. > I'm having a serious problem in trying to get an on/off switch to disable my > airbags. Guest guest
Lawsuit is the second best " L " word when the first doesn't work....I'm in the middle of a dispute with my apartment managers....L is leaning towards lawsuit with me.... I'm thinking class action though....other tenants similarly affected like me by these " botworms " of society. :-) Karin Re: Problems getting on/off switch for airbag >From: Ningerbil@... > >Thanks, everyone. Guest guest
I didn't find anything for Arizona. Are there not any dealers in ARizona that'll place this switch. What are my other options?
Guest guest
I would still contact the dealer at the next closest possible location. Perhaps they would be able to arrange something with a dealer next to you. Other than that, I would contact your Chamber of Commerce, your local AAA office and/or your state representatives and tell them that this important service should be available in your area. Let me know if you need further assistance.
