Spoke to the police chief one day, and asked him ..... he said he had heard something one time about an LP male being a police officer. It was quite a while back he had heard this, so he didn't remember details ..... also, it's not certain if this is true, or was just heresay when he had heard it. Take care ..... Guest guest
OK, this is going to date me but..... Years ago before there were really any disability advocacy laws, I recall seeing an article in the paper about a young lp that wanted to be a police officer. His first problem was completing an obstacle course in the allotted time, which he eventually did. But they had a height requirement that was keeping him out. I do not know if it was eventually resolved or not. Going for my geritol and shawl.... PS If you have had more than 2 anterior spinal fusions after stenosis surgery, and would like to talk about it, write me privately. Also if you anyone has had a problem w/ spinal osteomylitis.please write.
Guest guest
A couple years ago Jianna had commented at Pizza Hut that she wanted to be a cop when she grew up...There was a county officer doign security there and I mentioned that being a dwarf she wouldnt be able to because of heigth requirements. Imagien my surprise when the cop turned to em and said YES SHE CAN....I believe he said the height requirement had been abolished. Guest guest
They did take the height requirement away but then they make you go through a physical exam instead now which is very strict and would probably eliminate all LPs AngelsRTru@... wrote: A couple years ago Jianna had commented at Pizza Hut that she wanted to be a cop when she grew up...There was a county officer doign security there and I mentioned that being a dwarf she wouldnt be able to because of heigth requirements. Guest guest
My father, a man with achondroplasia, worked at a police station in Massachusetts starting around 1963 as a dispatcher and worked there for twentysomething years. Guest guest
Couldn't we make the argument that as LP cops, we would make smaller, harder to hit targets??? OK I have not had my coffee yet.

Anyone an LP cop arrested, would be bound to only get a short sentence! Not only that, but when the LP cop came to give evidence in the dock, his voice would be heard, but HE wouldn't be seen! The case would be thrown out of court for lack of visible evidence! Right, I can have my coffee now. How's Alyce by the way? Fred
