Guest guest
Hello, It's time to field nominations for the 3rd Annual LPA Award for Promoting Awareness of Individuals with Dwarfism. Candidates for this award may include those in the media, government, medicine, the arts, business, and other sectors who have demonstrated a commitment to broadening the scope and understanding of dwarfism in today's society. This award provides an opportunity for LPA to publicly thank those individuals who have helped to educate the public about dwarfism and to break down the attitudinal barriers erected out of ignorance. Above all, this award is a vehicle through which LPA offers its commentary on the social and political issues that make up the world around us. And there's a great deal to talk about, such as ensuring that dwarfs have access to education, health care, and employment, and that we have a voice in the national discussions about genetic discrimination and physical barriers. Past LPA Award winners include Gerard and Laurie Issembert, producers of the Discovery Channel documentary, Dwarf Standing Tall, and Krulwich of ABC News. Please send your nominations to me by Monday, November 19, at egan921@.... You may also contact any member of the Board of Directors or Executive Committee. You can find their contact information at www.lpaonline.org. Cara Egan LPA Public Relations
